@declan So the oil pump cable shouldn't fall through the cover. So.is the cable damaged.

@declan You know what I am saying though?

The cable shouldn't be able to go all the way through. So that should tell you what has gone wrong.

Is it possible that the two cables have been swapped?!

@Mightyman It doesn't look that way, note the space for the circlip on the cable

@Calum and there's no way it could have stretched that much surely

@declan The cable isn't stretched. The whole thing has gone into the oil pump housing.

The metal piece with the reecess cut out should be way back inside the cutaway. The circlip stops it falling back out of the case and it is stopped by the fact the whole cable does not fit inside the housing.

I get the impression I am not making it very clear.

This is how mine looks like. No circlips , basically it holds on a rubber o ring inside the bore and if I want I can pull it out.

@Zrako Nice, but there should be a circlip to stop it falling off.

Is it okay to ask questions here or do I have to start a new thread?

@declan If the question is related fine, if it's a totally new question then new thread please.

                                    alt text

                                    Part 8

See where it leaves the junction box, bends 90 odd degrees and has some tiddly bits above it.

                                    That's where you adjust it.
