That join doesnt look too good surely my tail pipe slots over the front pipe leaving a nice tidy surface for my rubber to sleeve over

Agree with @andrewj1680 here, there definitely should be some overlap but not sure if you have loosened the system off for that pic?
My latest solution now has holes in it, so I haven't found a way of sorting this yet either. Might get a metal pipe welded on to move the join, so I can access it easier as on the TDR it's in the most awkward place so something like exhaust wrap isn't a viable option for me.

That is the system tightened up, they are two DEP pipes so I'm not sure what the problem is... I was looking at this instead of rubber with two clamps on it, hopefully this will be a better option.

Oh, I thought you separated them to show us the problem. No mate the dep should slide into the end can. The the rubber just provides a seal.

@calum So if that is the pipe on the actual holes for the exhaust, how can it attach to the frame?
@anthonypearson Have a look at the dep end can.
On the under side it will have the year stamped on it. Ensure it matches the year of your bike. It could be a DTRE pipe.

You could make a little bracket to mount on the bracket on the exhasut, to move ot more forward and seal better with the expansionchamber.

After more fiddling lots of hammering and swearing tools thrown across the garage. I have managed to get them closer, they just don't seem to want to go inside one another.

@calum the tail pipe is for the year of bike I just think the problem here is the front pipe not being correct. I'm not going to spend £180 on a new one though as it's a little bit expensive for an expansion chamber.

I have a wr200 exhaust on 1 of my dts mate and i had a gap similar what i did was use the bolt hole that the grab handle goes on instead and the put a washer over the bolt that would normally go through the bottom tailpipe bracket and tighten that the bottom mount should be just infront of the original bolt hole
