The Helios Project (Aprilia RS 125 Rotax 122 Biaggi Race Replica)
-
So it's the start of the month again....I guess I better throw all my money away and live on baked beans for the rest of the month....
Some very bland, boring OEM spares. All genuine.
A gorgeous TYGA Pipe Stainless Steel with Carbon end can. These guys made all my carbon fibre parts plus my rearsets. So I very much rate them!
And because you were all complaining about my anemic bike, I've wheeled her outside for some photos.
And before anyone complains, yes, the photos have been touched up a little to make them look a little better. My camera is so poo it just doesn't do the bike any justice. So contrast and brightness have been notched and the saturation up'd slightly. But for comparison, here is a photo of the bike without any filters on.
The rest of the photos have been touched up to remove the block of wood and any imperfections.
My camera then overheated and died lol. Luckily it came back to life so I could retrieve the images. Not going to lie, even just the push from the garage to the garden had me sweating like crazy #SoUnfit!
Some more bits have literally just arrived, but I will probably get to them tomorrow.
Started work on the Hydraulic clutch as well now. Got the photos of that on my W810i Sony Walkman phone...you can tell where all my money has gone. I don't know how well the photos will come out on that. Hopefully be decent enough for people to follow. It's coming together nicely. Finished off the machining to the adapter plate last night. Just need to modify the clutch cover to take the slave cylinder. @NINJA watch this space for how to do it. I will put up a tutorial. The way the other guy done it wouldn't have lasted.

Zeeltronic Ignition System arrived Friday evening.
I had the tail light fitted upside down DOH!
But now all the wiring to the rear end is done. I think that's the bike pretty much down. Rear is all bolted in place. Just awaiting powervalve housing to come into stock and then a new clutch. So close now.

Ordered the last few components for this this morning. Clutch braided line from Hel, Lithium battery and brand new OEM clutch plates and friction plates. Plus a few bits of bling for the clutch cover.
Hydraulic Clutch Conversion finished.

@NINJA Cheers bud, there won't be any bolts that will protrude through the adapter plate. I've got some titanium bolts ordered for it. The other thing that will protrude will be the pushrod, and that will stop the clutch from smashing into the cover.

It's done, lock this thread down The Helios Project is finished.
I took a small video to show anyone who is interested of the Hydraulic Clutch in action.
Not sure, but @NINJA Wanted to see the clutch perch for the Hydraulic system.
That's it bolted to the engine.
Back on the green for a few more snaps in all its armor!

@NINJA Yeah, sun was definitely out in force today. No doubt winter is coming though. Doubt this bike will see the road this year.
-
@Calum Well that's a damn shame, are you not chomping_at_the_bit to take her out for a spin then???
wrote on 28 Sept 2018, 20:38 last edited by@NINJA Can't say I am really that bothered to be fair. It's been so long since I've ridden a bike that I've forgotten the thrill. My DT died January 2014. So that's well over 4 years of not having a vehicle. Knowing my luck, the bike will probably shit itself the first time it hits the powerband anyhow.
