DT200WR restoration project pic heavy

Thanks but the previous owner has really neglected the maintenance on my wr so I'm changing them as they are too far gone.
Found some UFO guards for £35 delivered just need a useable front disc before I figure out what I'm doing regards the headlight / front mudguard (mines rubbish after market junk)

Still perfecting...
Had the whole front end off to sort notchy headset.Got the new old pump cleaned out, seal replaced and installed.
The broke brake switch was not work and replaced it. The lever was also the wrong shape, so couldn't operate properly.
Got my skid plate powdercoated.
Inline filter for the 2 stroke. Thought it was a good idea as both pumps were ganked up inside.
-
@Louis-James Looks neat I woulda used jubilee clips on the ends tho!!!
And is that the stock skid plate or one you made yourself???
-
@NINJA cheers, I'll get some proper hose clips on, just didn't have any small enough.
Yamaha definitely should have put a filter in the oil tank.
The skid plate came on the bike. Was a right old state, was goitti bin it but came up well.
-
@Louis-James "goitti" ??? Gonna I presume.
-
@Louis-James No not really. You?
-
@Calum When the weather improves you should definitely take em out for a spin, it would be criminal not to enjoy the fruits of all your hard work. I get that people want to keep your pride n' joy looking mint, but bikes were designed to be ridden. Give in to the urge and go for some summer blasting!!!

Here's what a Kitted out DT125r looks like next to the DT200wr
The DTR is so much more chunky. But it does have higher profile and wider tyres + all the accessories on.
I'll get some good shots outside soon when the light is good.
The lights inside look awful so I used BW.
-
@Louis-James Yeah man that looks mega!
-
@Louis-James Awesome pics dude - very retro indeed!!! :thumbs_up_medium-light_skin_tone:
