@Calum im not explaining very well, sorry. its not long. problem is big size, just dont fit that tyga part. tyga part is bigger then the side it fit on the engine.
i dont know if i explained right.
maybe @DanRacing can help me explaining.
-
@pedrobatista10 I would contact the supplier ASAP and get their advice dude. Normally you have 14 days to return stuff, so the sooner the better really.
-
@NINJA this part AP8121163 from tyga rear kit, doesnt fit on LEFT BALL JOINT M6 from motor.
can you guys understand what im saying? i hope i explained well.
anyways on tyga website they have for sale separately 2 different replacement link rod sizes.
1- TYGA STEP KIT REPLACEMENT LINK ROD, 238MM ------- Uses M8x1.25 thread in one end and M8x1.25 L/H thread in the other. 238mm in length.
2- TYGA STEP KIT REPLACEMENT LINK ROD, 110MM ------- Uses M6x1 thread in one end and M6x1 L/H thread in the other.
maybe my tyga rear kit come with m8, thats why dont fit on the original m6 from my bike.

You're talking about part No#7 in this pic I take it???
Do Tyga make kits for different versions of the RS? Perhaps the parts you have on your bike are not the originals???
-
@NINJA the 7 from tyga set doesnt fit on the original item 10 from my aprilia. aprilia use m6 and tyga made with m8. thats the problem. but i will find out another way
-
@pedrobatista10 OK so are the linkage rods the same length? If the original one's used a 6mm bolt and the new Tyga one's use an 8mm bolt, would that not mean that you will have to drill the fixing hole out to be 2mm larger? Or is there not enough metal there to do that???
-
@NINJA thats what i will need to do! Not fitting because 2mm difference
-
@pedrobatista10 So the rods are the same length, it's just the different size bolts which are the problem???

@pedrobatista10 Right but you need the rest of the components. Which can be quite costly.
It is actually cheaper to just grab the whole engine, take the parts you need. Sell the rest.
-
can you tell me which more parts i will need? i cant find engine with kick anywere
-
@pedrobatista10 You need it all. Have a look at the parts diagram.
-
@Calum now i get your point, to buy a new engine :face_with_tears_of_joy: :face_with_tears_of_joy:

@pedrobatista10 Although the RS and MX/SX 125's share the same Rotax 122 engine, the RS has an electric start whereas the MX/SX has a kick start. You can convert the RS to a kickstart, but you will need a lot of parts like flywheel, kickstart assembly, clutch case, starter motor blank off etc. However the biggest problem is you will either have to modify or most likely totally remove the whole left side fairings, in order to kick start the engine. You would be better off just sticking with the electric start and look at other ways to save a bit of weight, if that is your goal? Look at Titanium bolts, Lithium ion battery, carbon products or just go the old fashioned way by just removing unwanted stuff.
