No spark!

@NINJA I can’t find anything wrong it doesent make any sense I could understand if it was weak power but no power at all is flowing through
-
@declan Well something is causing the issue, try using a volt meter to check volt's & Amps etc
-
@declan Look in the Haynes/Owners manual there should be a list of voltages. You then just put one probe one each wire and check your readings against the ones listed.
-
@NINJA hi, I have looked but I’m not familiar with wiring in general I don’t know which ones I’m supposed to be testing
@declan The ones to the coil would be the first place I would look. Then check any other wires associated with the ignition system. I suspect that you have something either not connected correctly or an earth is failing? Scrape some paint off underneath the ground eyelets to ensure that you have a good earth, as a bad earth will cause a short circuit and give you problems.
-
From experience the earths are prone to fail on old looms, check continuity using your multimeter from various places. Have you unwrapped the loom around coil area? Definitely worth checking, look through my red bike posts and you will see I had to renew earth from that area. Earth cable oxidised internally and started intermittently failing and quickly failed altogether .

@oldman I figure it has to be the stator because when I hold the power wires coming from the stator I get a decent shock but when I do the same but on my 50cc the jolt is easily 4or 5 times more powerful

@declan Dude you've gotta stop trying to electrocute yourself!!! :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: :smiling_face_with_open_mouth_closed_eyes: :smiling_face_with_open_mouth_cold_sweat: :face_with_tears_of_joy:

@declan I think wemoto sell this part. Worked for me.
Provided you are talking about DTR.
I have got the generic puller off the eBay and that has never let me down. Used if on countless of stuff.

https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F192815216901
Is the generic type I used on my RE engine.
https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F264446694058
Is one similar to the DTR one.

@Calum thanks, so my Haynes only mentions the resistance tests for my charging and lighting coil but I’m not interested in them why is there no info on the source coil
At 2k ohms on my dtr stator I’m getting .822, on my dtx stator I’m getting .223 this is measured at the source coil Haynes checked and it tells me the dtx stator is good but the dtr stator is very bad, unless I have done something wrong it’s looking like I’m after a new source coil
