Brake pedal travel
-
Is there a way to adjust the amount of travel in the brake pedal? Or is it just a case of bleeding the brake line and changing the pads. The pads have enough meat on them brake fluid level is fine, I’d just like less travel on them unless that what they are like on the DT. My foot ends up and a 45 degree angle downwards to fully press it.
Cheers

Brakes on my bike are savage!
IIRC DT Brakes are just poor!

Isn't there a nut between the U-shaped bracket and the piston pin, which allows you to adjust the length of travel on the brake pedal???
-
@DTlee yes there is. As @NINJA said it's just below the master cylinder it's a 11mm adjuster nut and 12mm lock nut, loosen lock nut and adjust so the pedal rests just below the top of the footpeg, about half inch. Though if there is too much travel in the pedal it's probably air in the system and needs bleeding.

mines broke

Thanks for the response going to try and bleed it as brake pedal looks like it’s in the right position already so I don’t think I’ll be able to adjust it any more annoyingly

@DTlee Buy one of these kits dude, they make bleeding brakes a doodle and you get 100% air free brake fluid every time!!!
-
@NINJA nice one looks like a good buy that!

@DTlee After you've used one, you will wonder why you never bought one before? Honestly brake bleeding with that kit takes minutes and gets 100% air free brakes every time!!!

I like to buy high quality stuff. I like premium. But I'll admit, it does the job pretty well at such a cheap price.
I bought a Hydrualic Crimping tool for a similar price too. And the weight of this thing. Beasty!

I’ll give it a go can’t go wrong for £14!
