Electron carb

@markus-w I thought someone on here had fitted one. I don't see why not. It's just a fancy carb at the end of the day.
Question is, why do you want it? What's the matter with your current carburettor?
-
@calum seized pilot jet so I thought why not upgrade? I've heard very good things about lectron just not sure which model/size to get. Has anyone on here used one on a dt or have an opinion on them?
-
@markus-w I like them never used one though there is Facebook groups for smart carbs should ask around in one of those

@markus-w
I freed off a seized pilot jet by applying heat with a pen torch, then tapping a small cross head screwdriver into it. It let go easy with a click. Just strip the carb right down before heating it...
If you want to flog it for spares let me know

Hello all, does anyone know if I can fit a lectron carb to 1999 dt125r? The manufacturer tells me they're not available for my model but I'm wondering if it can be done with a different model. Maybe yz 125 for example? Many thanks.

@ninja thanks mate but I did ask them and they said sorry but we don't make one for the dt125r. But I'm thinking surely one for a different bike would work.

@markus-w yeah I'm sure they will look up similar bikes so for example type in Google -yz125 specs) and usually you will get a page of specifications and one of those specs will show what carb the bike uses try find a bike that that uses the same carb and that will give you a ballpark fitment idea if you cross reference,ofcourse this isn't exact because of the differences in deal shapes and clearances,I believe all the lectron carbs are the same from bike to bike the only thing that changes is the actual size of the internals

@declan good idea mate thanks. So what you're saying is to find a bike that uses the tm28ss same as dt and try get one for that bike? That makes good sense I'll let you all know if I have any joy.

@markus-w yeah that way you know the rough clearances will be the same it's not exact science but it may work
