@Calum now i ran a wire from the battery into the 3 pins in the connector going from the stator to the cdi, still no spark. Swapped pick up coil and still nothing. This bike is starting to become a nightmare. What else is there to try?

Still no spark on my DT125RE -
Still no spark on my DT125RE@Calum Also when i measure the voltage going in to my ignition coil when engine is being turned, it only shows about 3 volts, if that tells you something.

Still no spark on my DT125RE@Calum okay thanks, will look into that for sure. But after looking into everything i think that the only thing that i haven’t replaced yet is the flywheel. It might be a silly question, but do you think there is any way that the flywheel is the culprit?
Because when i tried on my buddys stator the bike sparked right away, and when i bought a second hand one it started and ran for about 5 minutes and it suddenly died. And now i just received yet another used stator, and it didn’t spark like the other times (which led me to replacing the whole wiring loom). I replaced the rectifier aswell.
Or maybe i was just having bad luck with the second hand ones i have gotten, but both sellers claimed that they were working when they pulled them of their bikes.

Still no spark on my DT125RE@Calum Okay, i thought i needed main switch, and kill switch on it otherwise the cdi wouldn't get power. How do i make the cdi get power if i were to remove all this?

Still no spark on my DT125REI have posted on here earlier and i have fiddled around a lot and still have no spark. I have tried 2 cdi’s, 3 ignition coils (tried a lot of spark plugs) 3 stators (two of them ran for like 5 minutes before the bike died again). I have tested and opened both the killswitch and the main switch. I even got myself a new wiring loom, looped the sidestand switch and the clutch switch.
I have never heard of such a problematic Dt. I guess i have changed or checked everything related to ignition system.Have any of you on here heard of anything like this or do you have any ideas, as i’m running out of ideas?

Does DT125R DEP exhaust fit on DT125re/X?Does anyone know?

DT125R stator on DT125RE@Calum Do you know if a TZR stator would fit, isn't it exactly the same engine as the DTRE? They are a lot more common to find on ebay.

DT125R stator on DT125RE@declan Looks like it only fits the old DTR

DT125R stator on DT125RE@declan said in DT125R stator on DT125RE:
@Bananper yeah they don’t fit been there done that China does a good looking system for cheap I was going to get one
Could you link it to me?

Stators keep dying on my dtSo my dt stopped sparking, and after a lot of fiddling around i found the source coil to be weak, so i bought another pre owned stator and put it on the bike, fired right up and i drove it around and suddenly the bike died. I measured the ohms on the source coil it was 88 ohm, should be 192-288.
So my question is, is there anything on these bike that could kill the stators like this, or am i having bad luck with the pre owned one i just bought.
Any suggestions or opinions is greatly appreciated!

DT125R stator on DT125RE@Calum I got a friend of mine to take of his left side cover with the coils in and everything, put it on mine and it sparked!
So i'm looking at what options i got when it comes to getting a new one, as paying 100£+ for one on ebay is too much in my opinion. Any suggestions, are there any aftermarket stators? -
DT125R stator on DT125RE@Calum do you think that the source coil could be my issue?
-
DT125R stator on DT125RE@Calum well my bike has a no spark issue and as i said in my other post, the source coil showed a lower reading than the specifications in the haynes manual. 125 ohms, should have been 192-288. I already replaved my rectifier.

DT125R stator on DT125REI am suspecting my stator to be faulty, and a friend of mine has a stator for DT125R available, so i was wondering if it would fit on my DT125RE, or if it could be made fit.
Thanks!

no spark problem dt125re@Bananper also i changed the regulator aswell

no spark problem dt125reSo a few months back i was going for a ride on my dt, i started up my bike, and it ran on idle. Suddenly the bike just stopped, i picked it apart and i found no spark. I tried changing the sparkplug, the HT wire, and coil with brand new replacements. I measured resistance on the pickup coil (which was in spec) and the source coil which were lower than spec (125 ohms and it should be 192 at lowest). I checked the fuses which were fine but replaced them anyway. checked that neutral switch, clutch switch. And when i got to the sidestand switch i found that the wires was joined together to bypass the switch, and that they were no longer connected, so i soldered them together and suddenly it sparked. So i put the bike back together and was ready to start, and the same thing happened, no spark.
So i checked all connections under the fuel tank once more, found nothing wrong with the wires going to the cdi.
So this makes me wonder, could it be the source coil that has gone bad since it outputs a lower resistance than it should? As i thought it’s job was to charge the battery and not make spark.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

DTR coil on DTREI'm looking for a ignition coil for my dtre, and i found one for sale but it is from an dtr. The part numbers are not the same but does anyone know if it would fit and work? Or do you have other suggestions on aftermarket ones that works well?

Dt125r making noises in high rpm@Calum everything seems to be right. Ypvs works. I pulled out the plug yesterday, on the end of the ground electrode there were a small bit of carbon, i thought that was causing the problem. I swapped the plug, and same thing happens when the bike gets hot. Could it be pre ignition? I've read that carbon deposits on the piston could cause pre ignition when the bike heats up.

Dt125r making noises in high rpmWhen i am riding my bike and it gets warmed up good, it starts making these ugly noises in high rpm, and they keep getting worse as the rpm goes up. I have ridden the bike for a couple of months now since the cylinder was honed and i put a new piston in it. There is no drop in power or compression. Almost sounds like ignition knocking at some point

Coolant going to the expansion bottle@Calum ordered brand new radiator cap, but i have to wait for at least a week. Would it work to plug the line to the overflow so it does not fill up the bottle, just as a temporary fix?
Or will this cause big problems?
