They come with a 'stock' map. Also upload the image to Imgur and then click the image icon on the forum when posting something, then just Ctrl+V the link from the imgur image. I bought a zeeltronic for my fully tuned engine, haven't tried it yet as the engine isn't done yet, but it's a must for good perfomance and good control over the PV and ignition timing while mantaining the stock igniton flywheel and stator system

DT 125 Cylinder head and piston rings questions@Glynn123 You said in my other post about me porting your cylinder, I advise you to send me the head aswell to get it machined to spec and derestrict it, as for rings, can't beat yamaha original ones for stock yamaha piston.

Oil from Crankcase breather and won't rev out@Barrelman said in Oil from Crankcase breather and won't rev out:
Just imported 1989 dt125r. Now on the road but engine cuts out at about 8k revs. Checked YPVS valve which operated fine. Carb stripped and cleaned all good. However still won't rev out. Very occasionally it will rev almost to redline but mostly it cuts out (stutters). It's also kicking oil out of breather. Any suggestions
Bad crank seals most likely

DT50X Engine Swap & Build@NINJA Dude it's so bad as i'm also buying a BMW(i got one already, trading it in for a E46 320Ci) and i'll also have alot of money to spend on the car ahah
-
DT50X Engine Swap & Build@NINJA Sure hope it will, still have alot of money i need to spend on it tho :face_screaming_in_fear: :face_screaming_in_fear:

DT50X Engine Swap & Build@Calum Will do, isn't something i like to show everyone, but I can atleast send you a picture I also do booster exhaust ports on other cylinders(stock DTR ones)

DT50X Engine Swap & Build@NINJA said in DT50X Engine Swap & Build:
sure that you will get her looking real sweet and I agree with you about selling those RS wheels. Proper spoked wheels will make her look more of a Supermoto for-sure!
I have matt black rims with candy blue hubs anb chrome reinforced spokes coming
-
DT50X Engine Swap & Build@NINJA Yeah it looks really good on here, with all the fairings and stuff looks really factory, I don't really like the looks of the mounts the previous owner made, maybe i got to make a skid plate or something to cover it up ehe

DT50X Engine Swap & BuildWell, finally got alot of progress done on the build for the last few days. little update:
Sold my old frame and swingarm, and with the money i bought another DT50X just without engine, already with engine mounts for DT125R engine and aprillia RS50 rims(going to sell them)!
Stripped the whole 'new' bike, welded the mounts a little better, sandblasted it(made my shop a total beach) and painted it matt black. I also closed up the bottom end. Everything that's a wear part in the engine has been replaced. Clutch setup is Stock DT125R plates(using the clutch damper) with Bandit 400 Clutch springs. I still gotta finish the cylinder booster ports on the Athena 170cc(Yes i made custom exhaust port with boosters) and yes YPVS will still work and got to fully machine the DT125YPVS head to my needs.
But i had to totally test fit the engine, looks great in there!!
Alot of progress is going to be made in the next few days so stay tuned!

Why are some clutches hard and some easy?@Irongamer727 I rode a hornet 600 and it's pretty hard stock.
-
Why are some clutches hard and some easy?Newer bikes come with more clutch plates and more clutch springs, which means the clutch springs dont need to be too strong in order to handle the torque. Older bikes run strong springs with fewer plates(For example the DTR engine im building im going for Bandit 400 springs to handle the torque because it doesn't have that many plates)

Has anyone used these guys for engine work? Just looking at the photos of work they've completed their standard of work seems very high indeed.
Well never even heard of him. But if you need any kind of engine work, hit me up

Athina 170cc bore kit recommendations@harveymg said in Athina 170cc bore kit recommendations:
@DanRacing thanks for the advice I'm probably going to end up doing that as I don't have a very big budget and wouldn't like to to a lot of work like that. I will look into the 4FU cylinder. Where would be a place i could get one of them?
I might be able to get one here in portugal and port for you then ship it there to the UK. They are common here in Portugal, the 3MB ones are cheaper but they have a iron bore instead of nikasil
-
Athina 170cc bore kit recommendationsI'm actually building a fully tuned engine based on the athena 170 cylinder, cylinder must be ported(in my case i've fully done Booster Exhaust ports and intake work aswell as engine case work., and you must be running atleast a 53mm stroker crankshaft to be able to get something out of this kit(i actually have a fully built cnc one for sale right now). You should also add a programable cdi to be able.
If you need any kind of tuning work hit me up on message for a quote for exactly what you want to do with it.
Some of the guys are kinda correct here, if you don't want to spend alot of money, just get yourself a 4FU cylinder ported, your cylinder head machined to get the correct squish and combustion area, a decent carburator.A good ported 175cc(yes because for it to run correctly you must atleast use a 53mm stroker crank which increases it to 175cc) will make more power and more torque than a good ported original cylinder.

Aprilia RS250 2001, should i go for this project? Need some advices@pedrobatista10 said in Aprilia RS250 2001, should i go for this project? Need some advices:
@NINJA @Calum i think i will follow your advice's, because today i speak with a guy that work with importation of bikes/cars, and he told me that bikes before year 2001 its more difficult and expensive for make it legal, because need to make lots of tests and can take 1/2 months. and the frame i saw on germany is from 1996.
Don't buy it, trust me on this, i got a gut feeling your better off buyting a local
-
Clutch cable brand@NINJA I buy the cable with one end with a barrel(for the lever part of the cable) and the other one just a straight cable, then i just put one universal clutch 'cable harness' (i dont really know how to call them) in the engine side
-
Clutch cable brand@Calum said in Clutch cable brand:
To be fair though, I did become the boss of that back in the day!
I always run aftermarket cables on my bikes, no problems ever, i just buy the cable, buy the cable housing, the cable ball thing just like the throttle has but bigger(forgot the name ._. ) , cut it and make it on my own, really easy, never had a clutch cable snap or even fray on me..
