@calum Yamaha? Are they involved in the making?
@irongamer727 No, you said two strokes are unreliable. They're not unreliable, they require more maintenance sure. But you've now modified something that Yamaha spent thousands designing and refining. You haven't spent thousands ensuring this will run reliably, thus you must except the potential for it to be unreliable.

@calum oh got it now. Silly me. Anyway, I'm already thinking the kit was worth the money.
-
Not sure if anyone is interested. Either way just finished my first 25km ride with the kit. Still feels really nice. However a break in isn't in any way fun. But it'll soon be over.
Here's a couple of pictures of her. Tell me if you can see them. New to this photobook thing.

@irongamer727 Create an imgur account, photobucket compresses your images.
Definitely look at getting a Zeeltronic for your bike. It will make such a difference with that 170 kit.

@calum I've already spent what I consider A LOT on this DT. Also have an NSR now. Ordered a stainless Romeu Henriques pipe for it. The DT is either way never going to be a performance machine. The Honda however..

@irongamer727 Yeah, and it'll be a shame not to make the most of it. A Zeel will allow you to unlike the full potential of that Athena.
Having done everythng under the sun for these DT's, Athena Big Bore, TZR RR Belgarda engine, the single one most thing I can recommend, is the ignition system.

@calum but it's expensive as sh*t! Still going to get beaten by my friends riding their gasgas, exc and so forth. Not worth it really. I just want a dependable everyday rider with a bit of oumph in it.

@irongamer727 It's cheaper than the Athena, allows you to increase the reliability of the engine and gives you much more power through the rev range.
You can even put a two mode map switch in so you can have it in economy or full chat mode lol.

@dtr-nsr a green 1997. Needed some love. But it's nearly finished. Might post a pic later.

https://youtu.be/7bG_xZqEu-Q@irongamer727 Just need to get yourself a kickstart now and it'll be like a real crosser.

@calum I've thought about it. Could get an old dtr engine for £90 with kickstart.

@irongamer727 Yeah, that's about the going rate for everything you need, plus you'd have a spare engine lol.
-
What do you think? The DT is refusing to start cold. Always have to bumpstart it. Choke or not. Once warm everything is more than good.

@irongamer727 You running the stoke carb?
I always had issues with the stock carb.
What plug you running.
