So , the silver parts were ready and the exhaust expansion was blasted..
I may upgrade to a FMF system or dep. And sell this exhaust.Started prepping bits for assembly. Tapping holes etc.

As suspected not all wires on the new clocks were correct.
New clocks had a blank where the oil light is and a completely fake temperature light..
So I transfer all original loom onto the new clocks and drilled a hole for the temp light and put a long bulb holder in to hold the bulb close to the "red" window
New temp light
Brand new fully functional clocks at a fraction of YAMAHA cost:

@NINJA I'm not sure , I just asked for a semi gloss silver powdercoat

Looking pucker mate.
Definitely making me itch for another project! Although no way I can afford to do this at the pace you're doing it at!
What ya do, rob a bank?
@Calum cheers Val. And tbh parts I have spent less than ยฃ200, powdercoating Inc sandblasting and special paint colour ยฃ180

@Calum probably like Marmite some for people, but I'm daring, it will all make sense when finished.
Thanks, where to? Be good to pull in some newbies

@Minia thanks

@Louis-James Interesting and unusual colour choice, looks cool and no doubt when completed all the colours will tie together. Is this going to be a show bike or an occasional rider???
@NINJA hi, yes it will be a show bike of sorts but
on sunny days will get a nice ride
Problems with a 25year old bike is not all parts are available anymore,
Thinking of getting an enduro / laner that can be plastered on mud and dropped and banged hha -

You are right get a second bike to be used and abused and leave the restored classics as eye candy!!! :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:  :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Had a little play this evening.
Whacked on a few bits.
Ordered up a little bracket that was missing what's needed to mount the rad scoops, could have made something but it was ยฃ7 new
