@seamusdt As stated its most likely a broken cable or faulty worm drive???
Cheers guys i'll try and source a cable and give that a try
If the speedo works I doubt it'll be the cable, sounds like the speedo unit has suffered some damage, probably easiest to replace speedo unit unless you can find another spares one to cannibalize for parts.
@DTR-NSR I can only find 1 speedo on eBay and thats 150sheets might be better with an aftermarket one???
Probably the cheapest option but I've no idea what the quality of them is like.
@seamusdt You would probably be better off buying a copy and using that for spare parts for the original unit;

I'd go aftermarket - I can recommend the trailtech vapor
@finnerz89 I would agree with aftermarket, I have the Koso DB-03R and can highly recommend it. But again its the cost which is a factor???
@NINJA I think my trailtech kit cost me around 130, how much is a replacement from Yamaha?
Misread original post as rev counter not odometer doh
I had Veypor speedo on my last DT and was very good quality
Just picked up an X unit for my DT200WR as the original is km and that was 40 quid for the whole thing used
I found a guy breaking one 50quid delivered
