I definitely would not be using petrol or the like to clean the oil pump! It'll dry out seals and potentially damage it.

Not sure why you felt the need to clean the pump just because someone used different oil. That's perfectly acceptable.

i would suggest not using the autolube and mixing the oil with the gas

@itstom yeah I wouldn’t use that pump after it’s been in petrol you just don’t know if the seals are rated for petrol maybe they are but your putting you entire engine on the line

@itstom Carb For future reference some carb cleaner would have been a better option.

Even carb cleaner destroys o rings, can get oil pump refurbed if needs be, or s/h off eBay?

@oldman i mix the 2 stroke oil with the gas. i use a 2% mix and not need to worry about autolube. works great

I would have thought something more along the lines of wd-40 gt85. Something that lubricates.

As said, carb cleaner, brake cleaner, dries out seals. So it's a no go for oil pumps 😕

@claws It matters big TIME! Since it's dt125r.co..UK!!!

I'm messing, I'm sure he's just teasing you. Gas is ambiguous though. As you can run a car on gas, like LPG. Maybe he thinks you've done an LPG conversion on your DTR 🙂
