hi all my ypvs is a 3 wire setup and I have rewired the loom myself but unsure where I should place brown wire, red with I think would surge the servo so shall I connect it to alt live yellow/red or still a no-no I don't want a battery as I use it for purely off-road use last thought I've came across is a capacitor I'm not 100% so I could do with some useful info
    Cheers Dan

If you are only using it off-road, why not just pin the YPVS open and remove the electrics from it completely?

@rogering Using a Capacitor is just fine.

I ran one for over 2years. If you are woods riding/ trail stuff then I highly recommend keeping the Servo Motor on it.

YPVS gives the mid range torque you need out of it

          Keep it real

Mine used to work with a completely dead battery that didn't change. When the stator is making electric it works fine.

Mine would be intermittent with a dead battery. The Aprilia RAVE doesn't work on a dead battery either. Different bike but just saying.

To the boys talking about battery's please stop I don't want to hear it lol, I'm not on a stock loom I have rewired my own basic ignition loom without the need for a battery but I still have the regulator in circuit for a future headlight and assumed the pv servo would work off the regulator I'm assuming my only way is a capacitor any ideas what cap I need apart from a 12 v any specifics please

@rogering according to the wire diagram on the 3 wire servo there should be black and yellow to cdi unit so this would be a live, a black should be earth put a fuse and then looks like brown is a remote earth
