@scrimsmustang My dad has just gone and bought (a dog) an DT400B.
He is an absolute perfectionist, when that's finished I will throw some photos up.
The 400,s are thee worst DT,s ever made gutless heavy slow I wont go on just I will say the 250,s coming in a close second. My 125 and 175MX,s run rings round my mates 250.

@scrimsmustang got any pics of the 175s for me?
-
@scrimsmustang Yeah, I think it's more of a nostalgia thing. He had the 125 as a teen so likes the styling.
At the end of the day, he has had Ninjas etc and is just looking for a retro ride.
I'm surprised at how small it is.

Yeah, im sure he will have fun with it, and so will his wallet Cal

@scrimsmustang Yep, he loves all that though. He's got a 1964 Volkswagen Split Screen Type 2, so he's no stranger to overpriced parts lol

The Black DT is on ebay if anyone knows someone that may be looking for a decent bike.
-
Looks like someone is going to get my Black H reg DTR for next to nothing considering the work thats went into it and the hour and hours tracking down parts, finishes in a couple of hours. Makes it all seem a waste of time and not worth it, if it ends on what its on now I hope the winner is a messer I would rather keep it than let it go for that price.
-
@scrimsmustang Can you ever see the DTR's really fetching a high price?

They are up and down now, and I would say down at the moment for nice bikes and up for rough old girl project bikes. Back to front I would say, I think nice early ones will be worth money.
-
I think the early ones will begin to climb soon as supplies dwindle, agree rough ones overpriced and would have happily paid a good price for your black one if I was in the market. What else could you get nowadays for that sort of money , looked good as new. Must admit the value isn't my top priority, just enjoy being in my man shed, keeps the brain ticking over and the hands busy

Totally agree. There are some real dogs in the £1000-£1700 range and also some gems in the £1500-£2200 region. There are also bikes around in the £2500 range in reasonable numbers but I wonder if they are just advertised and not actually selling.
The harsh reality is that most £2000 bikes are cheaper to buy overall when compared to that bargain £800 project - trouble is for most people you can 'find' £800 where-as £2000 is always a struggle.
I've owned so many DTR's, TDR's, DT-WR's and 125lc's over the years, and sold for what now seems like pennies I could cry

Yeah, that seems the way it is lately, I think all the French imports are killing the prices also. There is a fair few on ebay for between 2795 and 2995 that will have cost around 1200 in france, though they dont seem to be selling. The prices have risen over there in France lately. I have seen a Black 2001 DTR for sale on ebay for 2695, it was still for sale on LeBoncoin for a grand at the same time, they even used the french pictures on ebay lol.

All the French ones have low mileage, not suggesting anything underhand but take with a pinch of salt as per any vehicle. My 88 had 30k on when I changed the clocks, mileage not as important as a well maintained machine, assume headlights would need to be changed or is that just cars?. Personally would prefer a UK bike if I was buying.
