tubeless rims

Never managed to get a puncture on a road bike before, where are you riding and what's puncturing???
I only really ride country roads and towns
Throw some off-road wheels on with nobbys and heavy duty tubes that would sort it haha

im riding from thurrock to bishop stalford so it county lanes and towns im running michelin heavy duty innertubes 4mm i think and sirac tyres at about 28psi and had three punchers so far at it now grating on me waiting for the recovery van never had problems before i started doing this journey and they new tyres and tubes as well could just be bad luck put thought tubless tyres have got to be better as could plug them to get me home

I used some of that anti puncture fluid on my old Suzuki - you have to take the valve out then fill the tube, valve back in and inflate. I don't think either tyre ever lost air between then and selling it

@finnerz89 yes i did buy some slime yesterday and added to the new tubes and tyres so got finger crossed that it helps out

That slime stuff was the bollocks when I used to mountain bike, never tried in a motorbike but using the recommended amount in some mtb tubes I never had a puncture or even a pinch flat in over a year, it's more rolling weight but not excessive

@britshgigolo Slime is a PoS and totally useless as are most so called puncture repair sealants. However I have tried this stuff and never had a puncture, but then that could all be down to luck???

@NINJA the branded slime definitely works, without any doubt what so ever. I've used it alot on mtbs and seen it repair even fairly large slits to s tube.

@finnerz89 Yes I've been riding mountain bikes for over 25 years and have tried many so called 'puncture sealants', with most being total crap and they create more problems than they solve!!!

I can confirm with slime my dad was a dealer of the stuff and it works a treat it’s always worked for me bike, car motorbike whatever it is it works he has a scooter tire off a Suzuki he used for demonstration had it years had so many holes pocked in it and it’s never gone down still up to this day

well all i can do is try this till i find some rims that will except tubless tyres not having much luck at the moment contacted a couple of shops but they say they dont know of any rims for a dtr so the search continues but thanks for all the information good or bad can only but try till i find a soloution many thanks neil

@britshgigolo run a mouse if you don't mind the tyres fairly soft and replacement every year or so

@britshgigolo Surely if you reuse the stock hubs, any rims can be laced onto those - within reason???

As I say, I run tubeless tyres on my DT. Just swap the wheels out for tubeless rims.

@NINJA it's more the issue of sealing spoked rims mate, trials bikes use rim bands but I'm not too sure they'd be wide enough for stock DTR rims

i thought the rims were not suitable for tubless because the sides are not deep enough to hold the tubless tyre thought there was a diffrence in rims between the two

@Calum hi mate what rims am i looking for as spoke with a couple of mx shops and they say there cant be done but im sure i had read on here of people lacing rims to dt hubs or is it better to just get diffrent wheel any help would be greatfull
