@Calum yes, they are aluminium, but the front DT wheel wont fit because of the different brake disc. I will probably just ride the both sets of enduro wheels and when they will be all bent I'll buy some new rims. Other than that I want to keep this bike as close to original as I can. Now it has the cylinder sleeve instead of nicasil plating already(which I think is a good choice for this bike) but I dont want to use the heavy steel wheels. I dont even think they would be that much tougher. Almost all of the DT's I saw had a bent on a front rim.
But yeah, I just like to go full throttle on the rubble covered roads sometimes πŸ˜›

I’ve had steel wheels rust out inside, never had an ally one β€˜rot’. It just looks like you stoked it on a rock. You might be able to get it straightened with heat. You’d have to retemper the metal after though...

It looks like this, this was the worst rim I had. It was a common problem in the WR200, the rims from YZ's and DT200R didnt rot as bad.

Pandemic hits hard. During the times where i got nothing to do, i rebuilt my old man's bike and it ended up looking like yours! After he discovered what I did, he ended up gifting it to me for my hard work on his bike itself. πŸ™‚

My dt200wr is stuck in my garage right now going no where as my coolant tank is dead - let me know if you have any spares for sale as I also could do with a decent 2 stroke tank as well πŸ˜‰

@nottsbiker was it you asking about the coolant tank on facebook group? I sent you the link to ebay item, what was wrong with it?

@donaldmendez nice story, would be nice to see the result here πŸ™‚

Yes it is me on FB πŸ™‚

From memory one tank (the good one) sold before I could get to it and the other one (painted) was too shabby to use unfortunately.

I'm keeping an eye out for a NOS one but this might be a never gonna happen type scenario πŸ˜‰

Just picked up a NOS headlight surround and complete throttle cable to go with some other bits I've got stashed away so there are good bits still out there

@nottsbiker I still have it, just pulled it off the .co.uk because of brexit and plane travel ban

Been riding a bit on the WR this weekend - its hard. No matter how well I dress its still cold, its even hard to start and warm the bike - it doesnt have a thermostate so it takes a lot of time when its -15*C outside. But it was still fun, tried to do some sideways action πŸ˜›

I might be late to the party but am I not right in saying that the WR200 disc bolts on to the DT125 hub and vice Versa?

@nottsbiker I'm pretty sure a wr400 wheel fits with the right spacers each side. My bike came with a spare set of wheels, the front one was a wr400. I didn't ever fit it but the previous owner said he used it with his off road tyres.

Also I'm pretty sure a TT or TTR model shares the same front disc

I read the question as WR200 disc fits DT125R in which case the front wont as the hub is unique. The rear is a direct swap

The hub might not matter as long as the bolt pattern and spacing are correct. I’m sorry to keep kicking this up but I read it on here somewhere and can’t find the old post.

Hey no drama's - every day is a school day so always handy to learn something else if it is the case

I've got 2 rear hubs for my 200WR both with the code 3BN01, however 1 has 2 bearings in it and the other has 3 bearings in it. Whilst I dont know I suspect that one is from a DT125R and the other is a genuine 200WR hub.

                                  11.07.2021 - Classic Enduro Championship.
I could start on a WR as it was made in 1991 based on a production year stamped on rims and fuel tank. But it was the most modern bike there.
I was 2nd in Evo Class and 3rd overall. First guy overall was riding a twinshock '79 RM400. Big respect for him as he was very fast. Second guy was riding on a '90 CR250. I lost to him as my WR bogged and died on the LAST LAP. Had to stop and kick it for 20seconds and that was enough for him to pass me as he was just behind my back for the whole race. Third guy overall was riding a late 80s KX125.
There were 2 runs, every run was 30mins. I won the first one in class, was second on the second run and that means second in class at the end. Did the holeshot on the second run, started second from the line on the first run. It was a lot of fun!! There even was a CR500 starting, but the track was way too tight for that bike.

Today I changed the rear tire.
The rims are not good. WR's are known from rotting rims on the inside. I dont really want to change them, as I just keep bending them with my style of riding and the rocks/leftover parts from cut trees I sometimes bump on. Also there is a new small crack on the rear rim.

Of course I cleaned up the aluminium dirt before installing a new tire

This is a mud/loose surface tire. Getting ready for the autumn CC championship next month!
Unfortunately I had some problems today, the spark plug failed and the engine died. Good thing is that I always carry a spare plug with me when I go riding. But I wouldnt want that(engine dieing) again! Will try to sort that out.

                                        And of course, the vid:

@challenger Ouch, I'm sure that wheel can be welded up though, unfortunately, cracks just get bigger 😞
