Will a 2013 WR250f swinging arm straight fit a Dtr? It says it’ll fit a YZ125/250/450 which raises some interesting possibilities if it fits a DTr.
I remember reading about a WR200 swing arm that was a straight fit (albeit spacers & calliper) but don’t remember the year, or who did it.
Some YZ years look very possible, but it’s always good to know what has worked from real life experiences...
Cheers guys, any info is appreciated...

No. YZ arms don't fit the DTR.

If you want an aluminium swingarm then you need either a DT200R one or a DT / WR200 although I believe the later may require some mods to fit

I've got a 200R one to go into my TDR (same as DTR) and it goes straight in

@SpookDog with machining and custom spacers you can make anything fit the yz is my favourite off-road swing arm I’ll do that swap at some point you also have to take into account the linkage would need a load of faff

You can fit later 96-06 swingarms actually in the frame, but you have to remember the linkage designs are all different and the width of the Engine Castings Swingarm pivot all vary.

I’ve seen a 06 YZ250 swingarm fitted to a DTR, but he had to cut and weld new linkage mounts to the frame 😂

Then you have to work out the link Geometry for the New shock you’ll need to put in, which needs to have a DTR specific shock bush into the frame.....,,

Then the battery wont fit. You’ll have to modify that completely and cut the frame mount there...,

    New rear axle

    New rear caliper

    New wheel spacers

    A custom chain length

Then with a later YZ swingarm, you’ll have to space the swingarm to be sure the rear wheel is inline with the front 😂

    Keep it real

Sounds like it would be easier to put the DTR engine into a YZ250 🤣

It’s funny you say that. I caught wind of someone putting a DTR engine in a YZ125 and honestly wondered what for until you realise how much easier it would be then doing it the other way 😂

@Calum there is a guy on the WR200 forum in the States thats putting a WR200 motor into a YZ125 rolling chassis 😉

Easier to sell DTR and buy WR or DT200WR - the 125 will probably fetch the same or better money than the 200 which ironically is by far the better bike

125s are commanding BIG money now on eBay! It is absolutely crazy! Not sure why they have shot up all of a sudden.

It might be the lemming affect. One sees another put a price and the rest follow. It’s the fleabay way. Now seeing things actually sell at fleabay prices is another thing altogether 🙂

@SpookDog That's pretty much how most things work. Realestate is the same. They get in an "Expert" to evaluate your house, but really it's like, oh what does a "modern" 3 bedroom house in that area command? Let's have a look on rightmove 😛

Not to mention the £1000’s fo pounds you’d save buying parts from that bike for your 125.

I’m doing my bike license soon and I can’t act like I haven’t considered going to France and buying a WR200, just like you said itd make a lot more sense

Make sure you get the Carte Gris (v5 equivalent) and pay import tax for the NOVA declaration

Download the Leboncoin app on your mobile as well - you may need a vpn to allow the download
