Honda CRM125

Anyone ever had anything to do with these ? I got this one off ebay last year for 500 quid from a bloke in Essex its a 98 model. It was originally White Blue Purple and Red and from France lol....... I changed it to CR Orange the headlamp and rev counter were missing but other than that it was sweet. I dont have it anymore but can recommend one, four restrictions on them but once you remove them they certainly go got some guts for a 125 trail bike. Would run rings round a DT200R or DT200WR.
-
@scrimsmustang I've been after a 250 one but I've never heard of a 125
-
I like these Suzuki TS125R,s aswell, its hard to get a good one though these days. Brakes are absolutely fantastic, handling is pin sharp motor is strong 24 hp derestricted. This my my 93 model totally original 5k on the clock, I sold it a few weeks ago and wish I hadnt.

Yeah nice.
I prefer the Honda personally.
How come these bikes were not as popular as the DTR then?
The Honda was never sold in the UK as it was still to powerful even when restricted we got the MTX instead lol. I think the Suzuki was just to expensive when new to be as popular as the DT, and the DT looked good so people paid less for the DT. My first DT125R cost £1249 brand new in August 89 lol, last brand new one I bought was £2695 in 2001. I couldnt believe how slow it was compared to the 89 one.

@scrimsmustang Mad!
-
@scrimsmustang You must have an all-mighty shed in that garden to store all of these bikes? How many do you currently have dude???
-
That shed holds the 1990's so it must be big!!
Would love a TS200R but maybe not in those RM shellsuit colours
There are always old two strokes appearing on eBay down Romford way that have come across the channel so I'd expect to see more CRM's appearing.
My friend works for Leisure Trail and says the 250 parts are getting very hard to come by these days so the 125 is possibly the one to pick up and rebuild

@nottsbiker
I dont have any of them anymore shed aint big enough lol. Yes the CRM engine is very similar to NSR no electric start and different gear ratios on the CRM. I have 3 DTR,s 2 are in boxes though and a few other bits n bobs.As for the CRM for a 125 trailbike, with an oilpump and rear pegs etc, its streets ahead of a DT TSR KMX etc full power rated 29-30hp and I can well believe it. I derestricted mine then put a full arrow pipe on it fibre reeds and a mallossi filter element in it and upped the main just by 20. It was quick and sweet as a nut.
-
I still always have an old DTR kicking about, this is my favorate colour scheme, I dont have this anymore either.
-
@scrimsmustang Definitely one to keep an eye on then!
That Baby blue one has to be one of my favourites from your collection.
-
@scrimsmustang I'd like to track down a French market, Endurance Blue DT200R in the future. Fittingly 1980s.
I'd like to have an IT490 and 88' DT200R sat together.
-
Plenty of 200's in France - you just have to pop over and pick one up

Love the blue, great colour scheme. Would not mind a 200 either as well, be a single man though!
This was an 88 Japanese 200 with less than a 1000 miles on it built on a 2002 125 frame back in 2004
