    Welcome to the DTZr, a love child of....1 bike with parts from other 3 and lot of ....love....parts.

    A first year 4BL model,it began it's life somewhere in Germany and then came to Greece in 1996 to a rental shop,after that came to my possession.

    Unfortunately most of the pics from early stages are lost,due to data corruption years ago in my HDD.

    It's condition now is this

    PS.I was going to buy a DT200R but every one found was raped at best.

    The finished DTZr,it's on the road,I am doing some runnin km's and will go to a friends dyno. 😀

    Passed technical inspection with "flying colors".
    I didn't put the 3ET headlight because it's no good for night,if you want to see and not just others to see you.

    @rraleks Forget what RS125 has,different engine.Even two 125's with same carb settings,same engine but different porting have different behavior,one may be lean and the other too rich.

    I would like to add my 2 cent's.I have 3MB and 2RH(=3BN) cylinders,I've measured them off the bike and on the 3BN00 cases from my 4BL bike,and everything is the same,I think on '88 DT's and early TZR the less 0.7mm is on the crankcase side not the cylinder..

    When using lower octane you can always alter your compression,there is an equation to Graham Bell tuning book for that,if I remember correctly.
    Speaking for our loving tuned DT's,stock ones won't notice it.

    @Glynn123 100% original unopened engine,it was the reason i bought it.Unfortunately don't have a pic from the day of purchase,it could be a highly recommended scrap yard candidate.

    I would like to ride the RD, it's a 2 stroke dream for me along with the YZ490.

    I always try to set goals/dreams and go for them,not for money/power/fame but for the ride and the satisfaction of "yeah done this"

    "Last minute" tuning to crankcases for matching,widening,angles retaining and "little" tuning to Athena cylinder/head (trasnfer port shape and sizes,exhaust port shape,size and timing,combustion chamber volume,compression)

    TZR 125 2RH gearbox (one model of the old TZR had the same gear ratios with the TZR 125RR Belgarda),that one is fitted.
    Had to find some different bearings to install,not same with the DT.

    @HOTSHOT-III Interesting bike that Aprilia,never seen one before.
    A DT could transform into something similar,twin headlights, modified bigger tank, keep it's enduro costume.

    @Calum I would grab a tig/mig and extensively repair the frame. But I am known to see hope/light in garbage stuff with a lot of time and work coming back to life.
    Example. I was offered an XT500 with low km's but sea salt corrosion damage to the frame,not passing "MOT" here.Very low money,but I have no time....for now waits to the owner garage until I find time.

    I'll list from more work to fit to less,by price is up to you there are still a lot stuff to become SM parts at car.gr
    TZR125
    TZR250 (if you are tuned,little heavier wheels)
    TDR125
    WRX125
    DTX125
    I suggest you to stick to Yamaha family if possible.
    For example,I used TZR250 3MA wheels,I needed custom spacers front and back,custom front axle,back was used the one from stock DTR, half a centimeter machined from the rear brake bracket to align for the disc and half a centimeter from the sprocket hub to align the sprocket.
    1cm thick bracket for the front brake to move for the bigger disc,front brake disc from TZR reverted to align with the brake caliper.

    If your CDI says 3NC it's the best stock open CDI you can have,If you are tuned enough next best stock by little is the 4DL,small difference and requires a little wiring mod for everything to work.
