      Cheers guys, I'm undecided on what theme to go for, I'm liking it dark so was thinking of a black headlight, but there again maybe a white sm mudguard and headlight then get some white/black graphics?

        Caliper bracket nearly finished, just need to fill the bottom hole with some black metal and weld, since I drilled it slightly off πŸ™„
        Then re drill the caliper holes and prime/paint the bracket, should look reasonable and be pleanty strong

                @declan they're really nice, think it was Β£24 for the pair and they sent an extra sleeve for between the triple clamps to add an hour meter. They're fitted by heating them up, they shrink and glue themselves onto the fork legs, a lot stronger and better held than regular stickers that's for sure.

                Also got the bike running for the first time since September and rode it around the garden after work. Felt great and brakes aren't binding so overall very happy. Engines still running sweet since the rebuild and forks feel nice, front brakes mega.

                    Took the bike for its first test ride down a back road, feels good and everything's tight, nice and smooth and gearing feels pretty good, cruises very nice at 50mph so I'm happy with that for now. Only problem is a bit of clutch slip, gonna adjust the clutch and see what it's like on its run to the MOT place in a couple weeks, easy job if it needs plates anyway.
                    Got a graphics designer making some custom graphics for the bike also, trying to keep a standard look, however update the very outdated styling.
                    Headlight and windscreen also arrived from Yamaha today, sadly we have been hit with some mega snow (for Scottish Borders) and after riding in yesterday's snow I don't fancy anymore frostbite and solid fingers πŸ˜‚

                                @calum Yeah mate I know what you mean!
                                When I built the engine up I was in abit of a budget after getting a new (used) barrel, getting it bored and buying a wossner piston and so on (was at collage and worked part time at mcdonalds haha). I wasnt really aware of the headgasket problems and bought the cheap ebay gasket kit which came with one, something like Β£10 for the full engine gasket kit haha. I installed all with gasket sealant and wellseal on the head, to be fair the head gasket lasted a good few miles, but got considerably worse after the first time the engine got above 100 degrees. Ended up pressuring the coolant when ran on longer runs and stopping circulation until my temperature gauge on the radiator read over 100 degrees from the steam!!
                                Ill give wossner and yamaha their due, the piston and barrel were still immaculate, no scores and could see the honing marks like the day I got it bored after 4 boil overs and 600 odd miles. Rings werent even worn!
                                Head was warped slightly by the boils so skimmed with oil stone, 2000 grit sandpaper and a polishing compound before assembling with athena gasket and a fine coating of wellseal on each surface, I dont believe in installing gaskets without sealant. Been spot on since and hasnt lost any coolant so hoping it stays that way haha!

                                  @glynn123 It shouldn't need sealant.

                                  Using sealant will mask problems.

                                  I've been there done that. You can use every other item out the cheap gasket set, but on these engines, either genuine or Athena head gasket is the way to go.

                                      @declan I used wellseal on my headgasket mate, developed by rolls Royce and used in a lot of racing engines without any gasket at all, just sealant on either surface. Top stuff and never had any trouble with it, doesn't really dry just fills minor scratches in surfaces etc

                                        If you get head machined flat you can get away with using a single O ring, any machine shop will cut an O ring groove cheap and use a yz O ring. 0_1525024314358_1.jpg

                                          @2stroketerry I considered doing this, however had a charity ride 2 days after my headgasket went so needed it running again for the weekend so just ordered an athena. My trials bikes always had O rings and never had a problem, if the athena gasket goes I will definetely go down the O ring route.
