@Calum It's very inferior to the 3XP-4BF WR200. No Aux boost ports and very tame port timing.
@mhbikesnbits I'm liking the project man, should be sweet! The 3ET lump with some breathing mods will make a nice road going 2stroke. It's a very unstressed engine, plenty of torque down low. Kind of want one as well,
I didn't like the damage to the crankcase and the price of that one, but a good project base, keep us posted.
@Darty as just said in previous comment two stokes tune up up well so can see what I can do there,
There was some damage to the case yes but the rest of the case is solid may be able to something to it to repair.
I had 3 options for the build for more power there 3et engine the 3xp and a Athena I canโt justify the Athena because I can just get a 200 engine for similar price sell my old and get money back but I couldnโt get a 3xp and as said previous just dying get on the road :face_savouring_delicious_food:
Definitely going be amazing bike once finished Iโm 110% sure of that

Done some work to the engine today started to strip,
internal condition is looking good need some fly wheel pullers to remove the fly wheel and stator so i pull case apart so I can carry on
Will be changing the bearings, seals and a general clean up of all the internal parts.
New piston also
Will also Aqua blast the case clean up and spray black for that old school look!
More updates to follow!

Bit of a update had a little play today started to clean up the kickstand switch unsure if to paint Matt black or gloss black or silver decisions decisions

Meh no real progress as yet to share ordered a set of flywheel pullers and they werenโt deep enough reach the thread and hit the shaft so canโt carry on with the engine, yam bits to the rescue and ordered one specifically for the dt200r

Had these done a while ago from a guy off eBay replica 80s yz style graphics gave him the idea and he produced them for me going be a nice touch on the bike obviously a while till I can use them

Crank case Stripped today ready for rebuild all bearings and seals to be replaced internal components of the rest of the bike is good condition so thatโs a bonus piston will be getting replaced
Next step is aqua blast the case clean , paint black and rebuild

Seat refurb- cleaned up, pulled old cover off and removed old staples.
also added a layer of foam on top of existing to add some riding comfort, from what I remember on my old dt the seat was abit uncomfortable on the old arse
Re foamed the base of Seat for vibration
New seat cover as seen in previous post

Repair to the 200 crank case today where it had been damaged purchased like this but easily welded back painting case black anyway so should hide the repair
Still need to shape out where the wire sits in the case off the magneto

I need mine blasting and powder coating but im in the northwest
