hid headlight conversion
-
I ran HID kit on my dtre. Was super bright. Agree about the pattern though.
It tends to blind oncoming drivers. The ballast needs to warm up so often it didn't work immediately.
Other than that it was an okay upgrade, but I eventually reverted back when it took a whike to turn on.

thanks for all the replies.i see what you mean about the reflector.think i will go with the bigger bulb just now to see what it will do
-
@MIGHTYMAN thanks for directing me here its a mine of usefull stuff for my bike
-
did you get the 100/90w or the 60/55w version as need to get some better bulbs for mine
-
@britshgigolo Are you asking me or @admiral323???
-
Ehr, the rectifier burns uo unused current, so the more you need the easier a life it has.
But the stator cant cope with 100W so the light will probably be dimmer than a 65w
-
well i ordered the 65w one so hope they will be ok nd give more light than the standard bulb
-
@britshgigolo The OEM bulb is only 45W, I had a 55-60W white bulb in mine before I switched to the 100/90W one. Even the 55W was an improvement over the stock bulb, which was more like a crappy house bulb and not the regular car type ones. But obviously not as good as the 90W. Which I ran with no problems on my DTR, but then maybe some problems would surface over the long term? Only time will tell I guess???
-
i got the 65w bulb and fitted but not tried it yet in the dark but looks lots better than the standard bulb but time will tell
-
I spotted these on ebay, might be worth a shot and a decent price if there not to fiddely to fit???
-
would these not be the same as the ones posted above where the light is scattered and blind on coming vechles because of the reflecor
