Belgarda Yamaha TDR125 3SH

If I wanted the 3 spoke alloys I'd fit the same as in your pictures but mine are the first model spoked wheels and I quite like them. Unfortunately Yamaha back in the late 80's went with an 18 inch front rim which limits tyre choice so I'm probably going to have another rim laced onto my front hub as my wheels are ready to be done now. The standard rims are aluminium so it would be a good match to put a rear on the front hub.
The swingarm on the later ones also suits the alloy wheels nicely but I can't make out if its steel or ally?
-
@nottsbiker I believe it's steel.
-
Shame its a nicer shape than stock but when / if I change something I like to upgrade a possibly save some weight.
-
This swinging arm the one I have now is steel but the one on the Blue bike im sure was alloy ? Cant remember to be honest was years ago now but it came from the same type of bike..

I used the TDR swinging arm as it made the life easy for the wheels, its designed for the alloy wheels and rear brake, the chain tensioners etc and bolts straight to the DT frame.

@scrimsmustang See I remember asking you way back when, pretty sure you said it was steel at the time

Ok thanks for clearing it up

Hi. I am looking for new fork seals and steering bearings for my 1990 belgarda. Do you know if it is the same as DT?
Links for ebay

-
Steering bearings probably yes. Fork seals no idea as DTR are possibly Kayaba and TDR are Paoli so might be different even though the stancions are the same diameter.

Yes they are different to a DTR

I'm tempted with YZ/WR forks with a supermoto calliper spacer to run the stock Brembo disc maybe with a matching Brembo goldline calliper as the TDR disc is exactly the same as my 900 Monster
-
Meant to add that my original calliper was glued on with one of the mounts, so god only knows how it 'passed' its last MOT.
This will teach me not to bid on ebay late at night with the old "I'll never win that...."
-
@nottsbiker better to own a scrap bike than no bike at all lol and my bike came with the front calliper cable tied to the forks lol
-
Think yours was safer...
Had forgotten what buying a total nail was like. This bike is reminding me everytime I go near it.
-
@nottsbiker well mine was worse trust me but I managed to scrape by without going into crippling debt
-
This is going to be an over winter project along with my Monster as I've got to choose between spending my spare (lol) cash on my garage or building the bikes up. Whilst the bikes are the most interesting the garage project is the one which will enable the bikes to be built quicker, later.
-
@nottsbiker yeah exactly if your planning on spending relationship ending amounts of money on bikes then you need a good solid shed or garage
