Introducing Spanners + DT 125r
-
Hi to you all!
I am new to this DT 125 world.
What l do know is, I'm very honoured to be here.
My usual ride is a Yamaha MT07 but l decided over winter l was going to go back to my first love of crossers, hence the purchase of a pretty decent conditioned DT 125r.
The guy sounded like he really loved the bike and that means as much to me because you know it most likely hasn't been abused.
I'm so happy to be a custodian of a legend and a appreciating classic.
Some I'll be picking brains and annoying most you over these first months, my apologies in advance.
Thank you for having me! -
@Spanners welcome aboard mate

@spanners
Thank you for all of your welcome messages!
So over the last week or so l have been working through my bike.
What l have noticed how delicate some of the heads of bolts and screws are.
The cross heads on the fly wheel cover and bleed nipples on the break callipers.
How do you guys replace these? Some of the Yamaha replacement bolts are so much money. -
@calum Thanks Calum!
A bunch of stainless steel bolts with a little covering of grease is what I’ve started to do.
And l definitely agree a impact driver maybe the only solution.
Or hacksaw and thin cutting disk......
I will post some up to date pictures when l get my new panels on, for sure.
Anyhow, back to the bodges!
This is my bike when l bought it!
