What gear oil are people using as I'm using putoline 75w light gear oil and my clutch is slipping like a bitch

In that bottle. 10w-40 should be fine.

I use whatever 10w40 im having lying around for my 4-strokes.

I use 10w40 gear oil, no problems with that, did change after 50 miles following rebuild but still golden!

It will go thousands and thousands of miles on the gearbox oil, no worries
