Typically it'll be gummed up. The various carbon deposits and the heat and cooling cycles won't help neither.

Also, the valve is of a particular shape, I think it can rotate freely 360 degrees, but ideally you want to make sure it's aligned flush with the exhaust port.

I don't do it that way as I find it hit and miss.

Personally, take the exhaust off and make it flush with the port.

So you align the cables when its flush and then tighten them so no slack?

But making sure that the powervalve is in a known state. It's no good aligning the powervalve to the port if it is midway through the cycle. as it'll be off as soon as you do a power cycle.

Cycle the ignition system so it does the cleaning cycle.

Align flush with the exhaust port.

Any step in the exhaust port will disrupt the flow of gases.

                    As I have already said.

@declan I don't know mate, it's hard to say without actually being there to do it myself.

Don’t you need to take the cables out and the black plastic part. Dont think you can do it by just adjusting the cables? Once you have the black plastic part out you can turn it by hand I think

You adjust the YPVS using the cables and threads to adjust it appropriately.

Weird, I couldnt get enough adjustment just using the cables. So I took it apart and turned the power valve by hand so it was flush an put it back together and tightened the cable. Which I’m hoping has working alright. Haven’t got it quite ready to go on the road to test it yet though

@DTlee But that doesn't make sense? How could the cables reach otherwise?

I had to flip the power valve 180 degrees, it’s not that the cables wouldn't reach but the adjustment on the screws wasn't enough to do it. Unless I majorly over complicated it for no reason?
