@andrewj1680 Has the flywheel been modified?
Some people lighten the flywheel, but if it's not harmonically balanced you'll know.
Was this the one with the engine not balanceD?
-
@calum the flywheel is standard yes its the same bike that i thought the balance shaft was out on but when i stripped it out found it was where someone had glued the water propellor and must of put the clutch cover back on whilst wet the glue has stuck to the oil baffle plate which had then bent it on start up. When running there is no vibration up through the frame now like before however you still know about it if you take it over 60

Thanks for everyones comments turns out whoever rebuilt it had skipped out changing the bottom swingarm bush my spares seem to be coming in handy on this 1
-
@andrewj1680 Was this the problem then mate?
-
It was yes i changed the swingarm and it rides like a new bike i have now decided to change the tyres for something more road friendly as you can feel and hear the drag they have on road. Thankful for the comments it pushed me into looking further into it
-
@andrewj1680 you putting the tyres on eBay?
-
@andrewj1680 if you throw em on eBay and link me I'll take a look when I can I'm after a set but not got the pennies right now so just do your thing and if I can I'll take them off you

Gotten to the point i hate riding it so going up for sale it looks the part but has to be the worst dt ive ever ridden i just cant put my finger on why, it seems to have a nasty speed wobble at around 60mph and i dont like the idea someone else rebuilt it so time to let it goIm sure ive seen that bike before in Hartlepool im sure its the same one I painted the frame swinging arm forks and tank for the lad who had it. From what I can remember it was a 3PY full power Italian import and it was originally Black. It didnt have that pipe and the engine covers where grey and not silver like they are now when I seen it last all put back together.

@andrewj1680 The bike also looks like it's been lowered, which would also change the bikes handling and ride quality, ergo making the back end feel sluggish.
Have you lowered it dude???
-
Either the linkage or "dog bones" or maybe even a shorter shock.
My TDR is like that and i think the shock might be smaller than a DTR one.
-
@nottsbiker Swapping the dog bones for longer one's to lower it, is the simplest mod. Hard to tell from the pics, but the bikes arse sure looks a lot lower than stock. Maybe it's been twerking a lot??? LOL
-
Just spotted the WR bits in the background too lol
-
Bottom bush had gone on it he said, that would make it sag if it had lots of play. The size of the rear tyre also ads to the height in the pic I think.

Yes one of my old DTR's had the same thing many moons ago. Being 43 makes me forget I'm talking about stuff from 20 years ago...
Crazy to think my TDR is on a G plate and approx 1989 vintage. 2 years away from being 30
