@dan28 the bottom water pump hose is higher than the radiator I didn't explain it very well

@dan28 I'm doing a similar build and 50 rads are very small I think 65 rads are more suited

@declan I don't want to end up using a rad that's too small
I was thinking 2 small ones will equal the size of one dtr rad
There was a reason I couldn't use the lazna rad

                    @declan looks good
You have loads of room if mount the radiator in front instead of at the side

@dan28 I do without the exhaust it's a right hand radiator frame if I use a standard exhaust I'd have to get a different fuel tank and radiator plus seat set up so I'm going to build a simp me underslung exhaust

@declan what about the older exhaust from the lc models that mounts on other side
I remember scrim mustang on here saying they can be used on dtr engine that way you can keep the radiator etc
By the way can any one measure a lanza radiator for me

@dan28 I have ordered a new one should be here in a few days, I will measure it when it arrives for you.

                          They are tiny though.

@dan28 the dtr rad is approx 33cm long an 12 wide
I have a gas gas txt rad it's 12 cm wide an approx 20 cm long
What are peoples thoughts on this?
                              Too small?

its alot smaller though an the fan for the gas gas rad is expensive even for a used one
i need to find out the sizes of the ktm sx 50 rads both together they should be equalivent to the dtr rad i think

The manual says that the cooling works by β€œthermo ~ syphonic action in conjunction with the pump”, but basically when the coolant in the cylinder sleeve is hot enough to actuate the thermostat and open up, the pump will move it. I don’t know any other motor that has the radiator physically above the motor to rely on heat rising through convection πŸ™„
I guess I’m saying that I’d test run it with the rad mounted where you want it and see if it works. As long as the pump moves the coolant I don’t see any problem 😐
I could be totally wrong though! 😜

If you look at yours the water goes out the bottom rad hose along the metal pipe an to the water pump
The problem I have using the dtr rad the water goes out the bottom hose an then has to travel upwards to the water pump
A smaller radiator mounted higher up would solve the issue an the water would travel down as intended
I m not sure how to add photos on here

The pump would still work and draw coolant up, it doesn’t rely on the coolant β€˜falling’ down into the pump. It’s strong enough to lift fluid 2 foot. If it looks good, try it. If not do something that you like the look of!

There is a tutorial on this site for posting pics, if I can suss it you can! I use a phone and imgur (app) to host mine. Do a search, please, it sounds like a wicked build!...
