HID are awfull in a reflector that isnt made for it, you get more light, but not where you need it.
If our lights are DC (which i presume) a good LED light might be an option. (I have it on my xt600 and my wr250r) But each reflector is different..
Something light this: http://www.cyclopsadventuresports.com/3800-Lumen-H4-LED-Headlight-bulb-_p_83.html

Basically double the brightness of the standard bulb, with a lot simpler installation done in 5 minutes and as cheap as chips too!!!

I ran HID kit on my dtre. Was super bright. Agree about the pattern though.
It tends to blind oncoming drivers. The ballast needs to warm up so often it didn't work immediately.
Other than that it was an okay upgrade, but I eventually reverted back when it took a whike to turn on.

The Xenon bulbs I linked earlier were super bright and had a cool blue tint to em too Plus you get 2 of em for £6.22 - absolute bargain. B)

Be careful with the 100W. That will offload a lot.of power to the rectifier. Better to.go off with a lower power one but perhaps warmee.

Ehr, the rectifier burns uo unused current, so the more you need the easier a life it has.
But the stator cant cope with 100W so the light will probably be dimmer than a 65w

wrote on 2 Nov 2016, 19:52 last edited by@britshgigolo The OEM bulb is only 45W, I had a 55-60W white bulb in mine before I switched to the 100/90W one. Even the 55W was an improvement over the stock bulb, which was more like a crappy house bulb and not the regular car type ones. But obviously not as good as the 90W. Which I ran with no problems on my DTR, but then maybe some problems would surface over the long term? Only time will tell I guess???

The headlight on the RE is really good too I thought. Even better when I bought some decent Xenon bulbs from Ring
