Need help
-
I did change the needle but was not different I even pinned the pv again just to see if it was the pv causing the lack of power but no it was still the same might just take my carb off and take it to fowlers and get the specialists to rebuild and clean it and see if that helps the problem as would be loads cheaper than buying a new carb
-
Yeah, somthing sounds way off.
Have you checked the fuelheight in the carb? Does the carb overflow and throw gas on the ground ? -
Are you by any chance missing the washer just under the main jet?
That will cause a very rich condition. -
@vtrn_raptor It's the fueling not the powervalve. That's why it's spluttering.
-
Nope no fuel on the ground and I don't recall their being a washer under the main jet either
-
@vtrn_raptor Well there is...
Can't say I ever noticed that lol.
But I guess I'm not running the stock carb.
-
I'm going to do what you said and put carb back stock and work from their
-
Got someone who knows their way around a dt coming up tonight so fingers crossed
-
Ifyoure missing the washer, that could very well be your main problem, please give it a shot!
When youre missing the washer, the carb will suck fuel around the mainjet aswell, making it very very rich.
-
It was the washer causing the problem the bikes running so nice now
-
@vtrn_raptor yesssssssss happy for you
-
@vtrn_raptor congrats
-
Thanks guys I'll make a build thread soon as I have some time to kill with a few pictures
-
best part its one of them things were a garage won't have a clue can't imagine this being that common is it @Jens-Eskildsen
-
Mine were the same when i bought it. I chased it for weeks, leening out the whole carb before i looked at a parts fiche.
I knew right away what was wrong when i saw the missing washer.I think its just easy to misplace that one.
-
@jens-eskildsen fare enough
-
Feels good to be riding again lol now I have another question how can I replace a steering lock
-
@vtrn_raptor drill it out and replace it there is a thread on here about it I think
