Are you by any chance missing the washer just under the main jet?
That will cause a very rich condition.

I did change the needle but was not different I even pinned the pv again just to see if it was the pv causing the lack of power but no it was still the same might just take my carb off and take it to fowlers and get the specialists to rebuild and clean it and see if that helps the problem as would be loads cheaper than buying a new carb

@vtrn_raptor It's the fueling not the powervalve. That's why it's spluttering.

Ifyoure missing the washer, that could very well be your main problem, please give it a shot!

When youre missing the washer, the carb will suck fuel around the mainjet aswell, making it very very rich.

I'm very glad you got this sorted without the help of a garage. It would have been wasted money mate! 👍

Mine were the same when i bought it. I chased it for weeks, leening out the whole carb before i looked at a parts fiche.
I knew right away what was wrong when i saw the missing washer.

I think its just easy to misplace that one.

my bad just been looking but can't imagine it being hard really just drill the core and mangle the pins pull the guts out and you should see how to take it out but there like £35 so I tried picking it but keyways just too small for me
