He definitely had ability deficit syndrome. Really wanted to ask him about abs and traction control, guess that's not going to save you from stupidity.

    LOLLLLZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ - Ability deficit syndrome, now that's a new one for-sure!!! :+1:

@zylux Don't feel stupid. That's totally fine. I bought one too before for 235 but I learned from it. Good thing is, my bike is fixed so still happy with it.

@randall Did you fixed this? It's odd but I experienced this on mine too. Engine is bogging down when I give it a full throttle. I checked the ful and spark but they seems normal.

  • Just bought a dt.

@jessebro1983 Should be able to get a DT125R frame relatively easy and inexpensive.

It'll just be import duty you'll need to pay.

    I'd expect around £50-£70 shipping.

I had an RS 125 Frame shipped from Germany to the UK and that cost me £10. But the RS 125 Frame is relatively small.

I can't see it being a cost thing.

My DTR's swingarm bearings were fine. And besides the point, it's not a big job to pull the swingarm bolt and regrease.

Finally found a KLX 250 for a good price, also came with super moto wheels. Fitted new tyres, c&s, rebuilt brakes, full service, few mods so far, valve clearance checked, manual cam chain tensioner to fit and counter shaft (sprocket) oil seal to change then it's done (almost)
Still riding the red dt and the dtmx, though they will be put away for winter.

Stunning bikes. I am by no means a Kawasaki guy but credit where it’s due they where years ahead of Yamaha and the industry with the KLX’s.
I’ve seen a couple 95-99 models come up sale recently and they’ve green with envy (pun intended). Once again no Kawasaki guy but the mid 90’s models just look too cool and extremely modern. Oddly enough they seem to come up fairly cheap compared to the likes of XR’s and WR’s too, which seems strange considering it offers more then a lot of its adversaries?
Maybe garish green isn’t for everyone...

Let me know your thoughts on it and how you get on with it it’s been on my list of bikes to potentially buy when I do my A2 licence.
Only thing that puts me off is it only being a 250 and roughly 30hp and feel I’d want more to play with

@Calum said in How quick should a dt be?:

@tdrgreg2 Super teen was a racing series for teenagers to enter. Due to their age and experience, the series was designed to race 125 two strokes.

Teens would predominately race Aprilia RS125's, Honda RS125's and the Occassional Yamaha TZR 125 RR

The engine in that bike is a direct fit into the Yamaha DT125R.

I suspect he's blended them in. As in it's a custom fabrication job.

The ones I linked you to are not "hpires" per se. Rather they are copies of hpires.

IIRC - They weren't precisely a direct fit anyhow. And needed some massaging into place.

    But that's the general gist.

That bike doesn't look remotely standard!

DT's have rocketed up in value, and not many 16-17 year old's can afford them. A lot of them are bought as mid life crisis's from when they were 17.

And most 17 year old's with good money will go out and buy a KTM 125 EXC, much more bike for £1,000 ish more than a DTR.
