    Well I run RS 125 rear calipers on my stock DTRE master cylinder and the brakes are ace.

    On the front I swapped out the mastercylinder with something more appropriate, for said reasons....

    Just change the bolt-screw to match. Or drill the new bluey ones šŸ™‚ (to match)

    Got the new 14mm rear master. Itā€™s amazing how good the build quality is!...

    Donā€™t know when Iā€™ll refit the 35mm front on the rear with the new master. Will let peeps know if there are any real benefits...

    @SpookDog

    Yeah mix matched DT125RE but Iā€™ve bought loads of different stuff for it over the time lol. Thatā€™s the problem of buying spares and using them over the years and forgetting what model/age they come from, when you come to do l maintenance can be a ball ache šŸ˜‚

    I reckon this calliper is from a DT125X/REā€¦When searching in the old forum someone else with an X had troubles with there nissin calliperā€¦maybe some of the newer ones used nissin callipers maybe?

    Ok cheers, Iā€™ll try that but yeah if no luck weā€™re get them out and just go down toolstation or something to see if we can some similarā€¦ I reckon itā€™s both bolts that you can see.

    Cheers

    @vitoast said in Dt 125 Brake Caliper Upgrade Plug and Play:

    Hello, I am Vito from munich. I rebuild my Dt 125 r from 2001 last winter. I am very happy with the whole bike but i am very unsatisfied with the stock braking power. Is there a possibility to mount a brake caliper that fits P&P? Thank you very much in fellows. Kind regards Vito

    Later Re models run nissin rear brake callipers, thatā€™s plug in and play but the brand name is the only difference youā€™ll see as theyā€™re both single piston callipers that use identical pads.

    Also for less effort and cost you could buy a front end of WR125X. 320mm disc, 17ā€ sumo wheels and lots of brembo upgrades

    @rking7888 I would very much doubt it or it would be a common knowledge upgrade ofcourse you can make anything fit with enough time effort and fabrication skills

    NINJAN

    @calum You would think that having the nipple at the bottom would aid bleeding and reduce the air bubbles, but I guess that gravity plays its part and adds disturbance to the fluid? I suppose that bubbles rise to the top and having the caliper upside down may affect the flow as well? I'm no expert but I'm sure that there's been some study somewhere. If you look at most vehicles running disc brakes, the majority have their location's at the 2-4 o'clock position. I guess that's for maximum performance, it would be interesting to see if you swapped it for a left hand unit, with the bleed nipple at the top, would you get better braking performance and easier bleeding? There's always plenty of Ducati monster calipers on ebay and making a new bracket wouldn't take too long - well worth a shot. šŸ˜‰

    @ninja said in Lever recommendations?:

    @spookdog Why would I want to swap?

    Thatā€™s exactly what I thought! šŸ˜œ I blame it on the ambiguity of text. Cheers for the offer but Iā€™m gonna pull the trigger on the Skuā€™s. I really do need the adjustability to get my clutch into the sweet spot without my fingers falling off. Getting older sucks...

    @spookdog thats a good idea tbh, i might try and make up a design and see if i could get a quote on how much it would cost to have one cut compared to 10-15 cut.
