Dt170 vs ktm exc 125

@irongamer727 That sound is obviously deeper being a 170, but it sounds similar to my Romeu Hendriques system? but ofcourse its alot quieter on my bike haha, I had an old style circular Dep silencer a while ago on my DT and it was very loud and sounded "poppy" like that 170, im pretty sure it had no or very little packing in it haha.
This is a clip of my bike, sounds better in real life mind

@irongamer727 No don't do that. That would sound sh!t

@Irongamer727 No exhaust stuffing is actually counter productive,
but, Induction plays an important role in the exhaust note.
Mine sounds really good.

I am always confused as to how any air is sucked in with the air box and snorkel system? To me is looks to be pointing in the wrong direction and I always feel that the rider and seat will reduce airflow around that area too. But I guess it is not too restrictive as all bikes perform extremely well with the air box and snorkel set-up. Has anyone tried small air scoops on the side of the air box to draw air into the box at all ???

@scrimsmustang don't think it will win over a wr200 but you're right, they are powerful. I Wonder how Honda manages to squeeze out 30 bhp and how Yamaha only ~20 bhp. Seems odd.
CRM will piss over the WR200 ive had a fair few 200,s and the Honda would just laugh at the 200, 125 or not.
Poo DT200WR compared to CRM
Poo WR200R compared to CRM
Mint CRM125R

I removed my airbox snorkel and upjetted carb, very good sound and possibly abit more power? Not noticeable mind but does sound brilliant.
Its the mixture screw and pilot jet you need to tweek when you remove the snorkel on a DTR mostly as they bog down at low rpm due to the air rich mixture, dial it out and you get a lot better low down acceleration.

I doubt the crm has a genuine 30bhp. I've got a nsr125 with basically the same engine as the crm. Doesn't 'feel' that much faster than my dtr, wether that's just down to the gearing, as the nsr has alot longer legs.
Is the NSR derestricted properly ? Should pull atleast 110 derestricted

Yeah, it's a earlier jc20 aswell, which has more aggressive porting than the later jc22 foxeye. Most it's done is just under the ton on the clocks, at the redline in 6th. It's funny cuss in the 125 sports bike world the nsr is regarded as one of the slower bikes. I'd have loved a crm though, just there so thin on the ground.
