i use the washers which are basically the same thing as the adjusters but more unconfortable to set, they do stiffer the suspension but especially on the enduro model (which i have) it's probably better to go with stiffer springs because you are not going to lose stroke. however for the gravel roads i do and a bit of enduro which is far from extreme i haven't got any problem, never went to the stroke end (i'm 65 kg, 143 pounds)

i use some washers for a total of about 1.5cm (0,6 inches). there are also the caps with adjustable preload out there https://www.ebay.it/itm/Preload-Fork-Cap-For-Yamaha-DT125-2004-2005-2006-41mm-Adjustable-Fork-Bolts/264595320406?hash=item3d9b1c2e56:g:R08AAOSw-E5djuOy

if you find a solution about the bigger tank i'd be interested in that too. if you keep the aftermarket chamber and put the stock silencer back you can probably keep the jetting near to stock and have a good compromise between power and consumption. i'd also keep in mind that the original dt forks are more easily repairable than the modern inverted ones. keep up the good job!

  • is it possible to calculate rpm knowing speed
    autovictorA autovictor

    http://www.motogelnar.cz/manual/YAMAHA/DT125X_RE-05-Service_Manual.pdf

i would like to get confirmation of a computation i made: reading on the manual i saw the primary gear ratio is 3.227, the secondary is (for me) 3.8 because i have the 15 tooth pinion and let's take for example the 5^ gear that has a 0.957 ratio. so the ratio between the piston and the rear wheel is 3.227•3.8•0.957=11.735. for example if i go at 90 km/h in 5^ gear it means that i go at 90/60•1000=1500 meters/minute. i measured that the distance i do with 1 rear wheel's rotation is 1.94 meters so, 1500/1,94=773.2 rotations in a minute. now if i multiply: 773.2•11.735=9,073 rpm!

@frazer-c do you have the cooling sistem still attached to the carb? it's quite uncomfortable to go through different jets with always that tubes disturbing the carb's movements

i'm running 22.5 pilot and 220 main jets with complete giannelli and no modifications to the air box but i think it's a bit rich in full gas so i'm going to return to the 210 main jet.

hi all! plastics have arrived from bikepartsyam and i fitted them on the bike! i made a video here https://youtu.be/zvogjRmsp4U where you can have a look. i had to use the old decals of the left side, the mask and the front fender, fortunately they are still quite good apart from the fender's one. later i'll post also some photos!

ok thanks, the prices are quite everywhere the same so i'm gonna order today from bikepartsyam. they have just replyed that the fender's sticker is not avaiable and mine is completely broken (i'm going to reuse the mask's one cause it's good). probably monday i'll go to a yamaha dealer here in my area to ask, if they can't help me i'll ask to a person i know who works as a graphic.
i also have to order an head gasket because it's drinking a lot of coolant every day, the strange thing is that it doesn't make any smoke neither at high rpm. this time i go for an original yamaha one because last time on ebay there was written "athena" but it was probably fake seeing the results, all the engine's gaskets had cost 11 €.
