@4rw1n92 the only time I see intermittent spark is when the side stand switch , or kill switch, not wired in correctly.

@dtdriver Unlikely, for starters, the exhausts goes around the opposite side. [image: Yamaha%20DT%20125%2083%20%201.jpg] [image: Yamaha%20DT125R%2099.jpg] Completely different swinging arm as well. I very much doubt it'll go in without modifications. And as I say, the LC engine is just better in all aspects.

@rking7888 the only difference I've ever seen with this type of Yamaha hub is that most have 3 bearings and a few only have 2 but they are very common and fit loads of Yam's. For example both my DT200WR and Italian TDR125 have them

stunning bike mate, first time I’ve ever seen that colourway too. If you do keep i hope you decide to change it back to how it looked, it’s a really cool colourway. I’ve heard loads of good things about the XT600 however I’ve heard more stories of people selling their DTR’s then hunting for them later. If you can afford to hold on to it. it doesn’t matter how many CC’s you have or HP’s that little DT will always leave you with a big fat cheesy grin

@ksk-04 That sounds like the right one... Check where the wires come out above the gear change lever. The magnetic pickup wires can become bare where they pass through the rubber... You should have a good strong bright continues spark when you give it a good kick over. Not just one or two weak sparks. Try getting an irridium plug for a stronger spark...

@rking7888 the 125x/re are very similar to the 230 with a few changes like ally swingarm, twin rads, headlight etc. I think that the 230 is the top of the range if you like Regarding the frames the dt200wr was meant to be a soft-enduro and so the frame is borrowed (not 100%) from the yz's where as the 125/230 is a trail bike and used the dt frame from around '88 with only minor mods across its life span

Jeez, it's possible that the the bolts seized into the aluminium. Dissimilar metals and all that. That said should still be easy to remove the bolts. The aluminium case will expand when heat is applied so should be simple to disassemble. Yes the pump pulls off the shaft so long as you've disconnected the oil lines and cables etc.

@spookdog @Calum Found it!, i found a break in the kill switch wire in the middle of the loom! Not sure how it was broken but it was obviously breaking the circuit. As soon as i sorted that it fired straight up. Many thanks for all the ideas and help. very useful.
