Took head off after breakdown

Wow I have never actually read this up before. Always assumed a "plug chop" was running the bike for couple minutes, then visually inspecting the plug. Seems like a lot of effort / plug money to get it running perfect, but obviously worth it. Nothing better than a 2 stroke motor purring over perfectly.

@Mightyman and you know what they say about assumptions.
Oh my bad, seriously I thought it was common knowledge.

Completed the bike again 100% , 10 minutes warm up , took it on the street . Hardly powerband , valve moving properly but struggled . Tried to go between the gears hardly 3rd only sometimes . Impossible to shift , only with heel . Took it apart again and tried to figure out whats going on. I think this is the problem.
I think the sping is slacked. Found picture in the haynes
Did anyone experienced something like this?

My spring doesnt come up through the holes like yours does, the legs sit underneath the same as it does in the Haynes manual image

I dont think you need a new spring you need to push the feet of the spring back through, the spring is pretty slack on all ive seen but not had any gear selection problems
