@declan Yeah should pull to around 12 mate.

@Mitch_350z So long as its flush with the exhaust port that's the main thing.

      How does it ride now?

@calum it seems to ride better when pinned but still only does 65 max and doesn't pull too well in 6th?? Struggles a little to rev up to but don't know If this is because of the pinning??

@mitch_350z It shouldn't pull well at the lower RPMs, but past 6 it should pull hard to 12. If it doesn't then it's not the powervalve causing the problem.

@calum ok thanks mate I'll have to do a bit more digging, just out of curiosity my other dtr I had was also a 2002 but had a 3 wire servo rather than the 5 wire this one has?? What difference does this make??
                Cheers Mitch

Everybody has to remember that 99' onwards 3RM DT's are CDI restricted to 8,500 RPM...

So, don't expect anything like a 3 wire servo Pre 96' model.

@darty The DTRE's are not restricted to 8500. The DTR's may be.

@finnerz89 Well, I wouldn't say WAY past. I think it's 10k. Because the Powervalve closes then and then it really struggles. But it's as simple as earthing the black and green wire then you get full power.

@finnerz89 Yeah sick, the DTRs though - are different sadly.

DTRE/X use a non Restricted CDI.

                            2002''s are doomed to 8.5k.

@cyber-ninja Tell you what, it's said that there were some 3RM CDI's that were Unrestricted from factory for last model 2003'

I can't remember the CDI code, if you had one, that was pretty rare!

My brother had a 2001 DTR and it was slow as fook.

Although once derestricted it went like stink.

Pretty sure he swapped out the CDI though.

@declan I believe that it's a sensor which forms part of the de-restriction system. It monitor's RPM's and when a set limit is reached it retards the CDI/engine from going any higher. Hence if you unplug the sensor then in theory your engine is capable of reaching it's highest maximum RPM.

                                          SEDUCED BY THE DARK SIDE!!!
