So Close!...@SpookDog highly recommend electrolysis on your tank, the final rinse i used harpic toilet cleaner and it brought my 89 tank up like new!

The Dionysus Project (Aprilia ETX 125 Rotax 122)@Calum I feel your pain mate, I definitely wouldn't accept that for a freshly coated frame, over time the rust will spread and just keep bubbling the paint off your right to take it back

The Dionysus Project (Aprilia ETX 125 Rotax 122)@Calum great read Calum, looking forward to hearing of your progress!

Is this a rare DT125?@brian-stephens True, the blue is also hard to reproduce, i got side panels reproduced a while back and red was ok but the blue stood out more. If your doing the whole bike you wouldn't notice it though
-
Is this a rare DT125?@brian-stephens I've only found 3x original NOS decals online since 2017, your better of getting them reproduced. I managed to buy some second hand tank fairings with the same decals but they just don't come up online. A few weeks back i managed to get one of the side panel graphics but as i say only 3x NOS found in the last 4 years, they just didn't make many of this colour i reckon. Keep looking online and eventually they will hopefully come up mate.

So Close!...@spookdog if its rust converter mine burnt and pealed off, ended up using acid based rust remover which was fine

Hard Starting, need help.@kylescave Have you checked the compression / psi of the top end ? When the piston gets warm it expands which could explain why it starts easier once you've had it running

Advice removing oil delivery hose@Calum Amazing thank you, i'll give it a try now

Advice removing oil delivery hoseHi, just looking to replace my DT125 98' with Clear Oil delivery hose from Yambits, looking at the original Yamaha hose clips at both ends (Oil Pump & Delivery) they appear to need to be forced open with a small screw driver as they don't have any obvious way to loosen.
Has anyone else manage to remove the original oil clips? if so i'd appreciate if there was a good method you used without damaging the original parts.
Thanks

Is this a rare DT125?@scrimsmustang Thanks, I thought this might be the case

Is this a rare DT125?@minia lol yeah i see that it was early this morning, as you say when you find one, typically another pops up
it's not a bad price for the condition and still pretty low millage for it age, all decals are present and looks completely original, just needs a little TLC from someone on this forum
-
Is this a rare DT125?@minia I'm amazed, i've been searching for months and you've found one, thank you
Last night I managed to locate the original owner in France on Facebook, hopefully he's going to send some original pictures, the bike was only really used around a campsite in Calais so not too hard life.
-
Is this a rare DT125?@oldman Yeah the pictures are quite large sorry
-
Is this a rare DT125?@minia Wow some lovely bikes on there! its amazing how original they keep their bikes when you compare them to UK models. My latest DT still had its original tyres from 19 years ago Nothing beats an unmolested DT lol
-
Is this a rare DT125?Thanks @minia this sounds like the site where unit5 purchased from, the bike supposedly only had one french owner from new and was kept on a holiday park hence the low millage at roughly 500 miles per year which is not too bad. I must admit i'd never seen this colour before purchasing but very happy I did
-
Is this a rare DT125?Thanks, I'm sure there is another one in this colour somewhere out there in the world, hopefully in as a good condition.
-
Is this a rare DT125?@declan thanks, there's a few little bits I still need to sort before I can say she's 100% mint
-
Is this a rare DT125?@Irongamer727 It wasn't mint when I got it, it had some slight rusting and was missing a couple of decals which I was really fortunate to find.
I stripped down through the winter, sandblasted and removed the rust etc..
I paid just around £1800 and that included a new set of tyres and MOT from unit5, She's only done 9k in km (roughly 5500 miles) and runs sweet

Is this a rare DT125?Hi all,
I recently purchased a Yamaha DT125 1998 Model which was first registered in 1999, from Unit5 (Imported from France)
I know this is an official yamaha colour as i've located the 1998 Yamaha Sales brochure however I've not seen anyone else online or at bike events with this colour scheme.Has anyone else owned this colour scheme or have any photos they know off?
I'm really keen to know if this is rare, My first DT125 was a 1987 Blue & Yellow which I regularly see online for sale, however this colour scheme never seems to come up.
I've no intention on selling the bike as I enjoy it too much, when I get to drive I'm also weary of wrecking such a beautiful bike through daily wear and tear.
Cheers
