@markus-w Cheers bud! I got them all ordered now (top & bottom bushes from Brooke’s, oil & dust seals original parts) Only thing I couldn’t find was the curclips for the fork leg tops. I just need to measure one when I remove it and order them by size, I guess... I would really like to get hold of some late model forks with low mileage to rebuild, if possible... Since I rebuilt the top end I’ve had tank leaks, rear punctures and now the right hand fork seal has failed! The joys of a 34 year old, basket case 2 stroke never end! I’ve had to put the HR exhaust on hold for the last couple weeks...

@Morten I’ve got Yz125 UD forks on a DTR125 frame. The previous owner fitted a Dtr headstock tube into the lower yoke (Yz ones are an inch or so longer) It’s not a perfect job though cause the yokes don’t line up with the ‘hourglass’ shape of the fork legs... Best machine lathe a longer cup bearing adapter out of stainless and press it into the headstock IMO

@HOTSHOT-III Cheers for the info bud! I did manage to find a few likely suspects. 8mm inner hole and fittable to the nut on my lower mount, as well as being bearing raced. I’ve even found a few spring loaded contraptions that look fitable,(with a bit of finessing!) but I imagine that if they’re in constant contact with the chain that they’d shred the roller PDQ! It’s all food for thought though ... Once I tap a grease nipple into both sides of the swing arm front mount points. Try and find some half decent progressive front springs, get the upper and lower bushes and new seals, I’ll be happy. Have managed to get hold of a dtr200 variable dampening rear shock that I want to try and rebuild as well. I’ll have more faith in the setup at 70mph plus speeds ... I also want to improve the engine mount bolts under the swing arm bolt and at the engine front mount below the exhaust and bottom coolant pipe... I think my engine may of been shifting about under loads and putting excess pressure on the cylinder head mount. Maybe affecting the gasket seal??!... on

Let you in to a little secret the xt600 shock spring fits into to the dt shock, either that or YSS shock is a good upgrade according to the guys on here which I am going for personally

@anything2t there is 41mm fork extension on eBay which is the right size but I can only assume that the threads are correct.

@spookdog there paioli wrx 125 forks i went with 500ml oil they seem to be fine not popped the seal yet lol @Stevie-Wonder i only have the forks so dont really need the manual lol facebook was not much help that was also mixed answers

@biker_123 I recently had this problem, the way I got around it was using an impact gun on the bolt to jolt it then it all came apart really easy after

@arild I think they were 50mm longer than stock. That was for road use though, but did seem ok green Laning at the weekend.

During a storm she also took a bad hit, being knocked clean sideways off, knocking bearings out and taking everything else with it. I was very lucky as there was no panel damage and no glass or anything smashed According to my phones camera roll, she’s not been started or rode in over 2 months. Devastated. On the bright side keeping them miles down and rebuilds away Anyway... I’ve spoke to a lot of different people about the way they did their USD fork conversion, I even found the guy who’s bike I posted and got chatting to him and the general consensus is some people having been using Dremels and buying replacement modern taper bearings. @Calum if you’re reading, don’t worry mate I’m taking your advice on this one. Bearing cup method all day. I think of about 8-10 people I’ve spoke to online only one person has used that method. Everyone else had made their own kind of diy jobby. Worst of all, 95% of the time they’re fucking weirdos and act all secretive about it. Not a fan tbh. Sounds very sketchy I don’t think a single one of the people I spoke to who’s done a USD fork swap has actually done so with any intent of using those forks like they where designed for. £500 on a WR200 front end just to supermoto it and look cool?
