If you're pinning the P/V open, just remove the servo and wires.

@Calum The servo still moves it when the ignition turn on however the powerband opens up earlier than usual.

@Minia hi I’ve now got a spark, it was the pick up coil. Now the bike won’t start. Cleaned carb, checked reeds, checked compression(reading 100ps)

Wondered if the timing might be out? Does an occasional backfire but nothing else 😟😟

@Blaze-Vile Sounds like it could be an electrical fault.
Check CDI, Coil, Spark Plug, HT Lead etc.

Air box isn't restricted. Air filter clean from debris etc?

@NINJA I'm not sure but I could have sworn that the X forks were shorter not longer but like anything in life I could well be wrong!

@AndyJay that would give you a 12.5 weight - I'd stick with stock unless the springs are too bouncy for you and some stiffer springs if you're larger than an average rider

You cant buy the foam part of the filter holder separately from Yamaha unfortunately but can get some from a hobby shop and cut / glue that in instead

    Looks like good progress mate

I'm off to Normandy in June if Brexit don't balls it up - I always take my dog on my travels even this year for the 75th anniversary celebrations πŸ˜‰

Clean your carb out so you've got a good base point to start from. Your idle screw should be between 1 and a half turns out and about 3 turns out when the engines hot. If it's running better at under 1 and a half turns out then you want to fit a richer pilot jet, higher than 3 turns stick a leaner in. If this is set right the bike should always require choke from cold start, which is correct procedure.
