    @andrewj1680 said in Hello All:

    My rgv250 was a animal i find hard to believe a rs125 would come anywhere close to it

    I've owned TL1000S, 996, Tuono 1000 etc so I know what animal bikes are like to ride 😉

    RS125 was just a really nice small capacity sportsbike that's what I was getting at. Obviously an RGV will be quicker, but sometimes there's more fun in maxing a tiddler 🙂

    Meant to add that my original calliper was glued on with one of the mounts, so god only knows how it 'passed' its last MOT.

    This will teach me not to bid on ebay late at night with the old "I'll never win that...."

    Hi All,

    I've recently purchased a restored Italian TDR from ebay which I must commend the previous owners guide dog on giving it his best shot, but man its a dog itself. Note to self don't bid on ebay at midnight...

    I'm posting this from work so cant upload anything from here but in all honesty I'm too embarrassed to show anything until I'm at least ready to start rebuilding it from the ground up. Main issues (lol) at present include rough body kit, rusty forks / broken calliper mount and no YPVS servo. The bike did run (now in bits) but judging on the rest of the bike I'm not sure how 'rebuilt' its actually been so am reluctant to waste any money on it. My current plan is to drop a DT200R 3ET engine in as I'm off to France next month on holiday in my van if I can figure out their free-ads in Brittany.

    Anyways if anyone has any TDR stuff let me know as I probably need it!

    I'm also on the look out for a WR200 or DT200WR but wont get one from here as they are too highly sought after (ie expensive) but have owned a 200WR before along with numerous DT-R's and really regret selling the light and nimble 200 even if it did come with a moped size kickstart!!

    Cheers - Ben

    Two strokes were once the bike of choice for people on low incomes, in the UK they are rapidly becoming the preserve of folk with lots of cash to spend on rare parts now 😉

    I was looking for a 200R lump to go into my 3SH TDR125 but have pretty much given up as they are impossible to find over here right now.

    Unit 5 Moto's had a rough one up a few weeks back for soemthing like £2200 which sold in days - there are no bargains to be had with anything DT related at all it seems 😞

    @Big-Col tbh I'm looking forward to using the 200 more this year as the 1200 is good but the little wr is scruffy so it don't matter if it gets dropped off road. Got to laugh the Multistrada has an enduro setting - like that's going off road lol!

    Best place to store a motorcycle is indoors and if you cant do that a garage. I've had DT's parked outside chained up and been woken up in the night by the sound of rattling chains - had to sleep in the winter with the bedroom windows open just to try and hear if anything was happening to my bike!

    I hear you dude!

    This year is getting the DT200WR onto the road (its scruffy) then over the winter doing a SM rebuild. Trouble is I've also got a TDR125 Belgarda I want to make a 200R and my 900 Monster in bits ready to build with lots of carbon and full Maxton suspension.

    Next project is going to be a Suzuki SJ with replica Willys Jeep body mounted on top 😉

    Quality looks great - can't say I agree with the colour choice as I'm more of a black with added black kinda guy 😉

    Both WR's are rare. The 250Z was made for quite a number of years but it was only iirc France and maybe Australia that got the road legal ones as seen in blue / yellow. The 200 in both guises, the WR was sold here along with the USA etc. The DT-WR version seems to have been an Asia only market bike.

    Both are rare but in my own personal opinion the 200 is the best blend of reliability, power, suspension and looks you can get with a road going trail bike. I'd make the 250 into a mental supermoto 😉

    As mentioned they are a sealed unit

    I've gone down the YSS route for my TDR125 (same as DT125R) and it cost me approx £200 all in. Seems good quality and is adjustable too.

    @Minia

    Yes been bumped up by the English guy (Franek) and Unit 5 etc going over there and hoovering them all up, then banging a few quid on top and selling them here - think everyone is cottoning onto the fact that two strokes are no longer going to lose money so are "worth" more now

    2+ years ago I accidentally bought a Belgarda TDR125 from ebay late one night which turned out to be a complete dog. Due to the lock down I've decided to slowly rebuild it and am using genuine parts or high quality pattern as I know that long term it will be a good investment. Whilst I know that it wont be worth as much as a DT-R that's irrelevant to me as I've had my share of them but also have the DT200WR which fills the same gap.

  • What brake disks fit the DTR front wheel hub?
    NottsbikerN Nottsbiker

    Try this place;

    http://thediscdoctor.co.uk/

    If you need a bigger disc on a DTR hub then you have to get one made for you. This is what I'll probably do with my 200WR front wheel when I can afford to go SM

    Yes and I'll stick my neck on the line here and say the 3XP engine is better off staying in the superior WR chassis. If you can get hold of individual 3XP parts at a reasonable cost however it's worth doing.

  • TDR issue
    NottsbikerN Nottsbiker

    Only thing that looks wrong with the TDR compared to the DTR is how low the back end sits. I think that the shock is either shorter or the dog bones are different.

    Bike looks great btw 🙂

    Had this recently with someone telling me my TDR would be dog slow with its DTR cylinder and that his 4FU with 32mm would be a rocket ship. Person seemed unable to comprehend that I didnt really care that much and that its essentially a softly tuned fun / commuter bike that is designed to be reliable and run on basic maintenance only.

    P codes, SP cylinders etc are all good if you have them, can afford them and are that bothered about getting 1 or 2 bhp out of a softly tuned Yamaha engine.

    I've just sold 150bhp Ducati Multistrada so I'm not overly interested in 15 or 20 hp as long as the bike moves and is fun to ride 🙂

    @calum only because I was always waiting for the Suzuki power valves to drop into the cylinders and cause the engine to go pop

    Really fancy a Super-City myself but have the TDR now and prefer the Yamaha reliability over the Cagiva's.

    Built an RS 125 a good few years ago. Even standard full power with 34mm carb they make a really good sportsbike and one that you can have plenty of fun riding even with a full licence.

    TBH I probably preferred the RS to my old RGV250

    Spent years (back in the day) riding full power 125's on CBT's and as long as you dress well, have L-plates and don't ride like an idiot (well all the time!) you should be ok.

    @calum No problem - I've got a 200WR and TDR125 frame side by side here for comparison so can tell quite quickly as the TDR is 99% DT-R anyways 😉
