Probably worth mentioning, as you can see in the background of this photo, I have managed to acquire a fully supermoto setup for this machine as well. These come off the Aprilia MX 125. Since I'm running an MX rear end, that should be simple enough to swap out, but the front end shows some challenges. The MX125 front wheel uses a digital speedometer, so swapping out the front end means losing the speedo. Instead, I managed to find a brand new old stock MX front rim, and I've also managed to source an RX125 front hub, so I will look to lace the RX hub onto the MX rim, thus retaining the original speedometer configuration. The rear wheel is in poor condition, the hub has snapped in several places, but I managed to find a brand new old stock MX rear hub, so the plan is to lace both wheels and have an easy to swap out setup for both road and trail riding.

Okay, a few more NOS parts ordered and now the primary drive gear, clutch basket and generator nut all torqued to spec! [image: clutchAssembly01.jpg] All 6 TZ750 clutch springs fitted with brand new clutch plates and NOS OEM damper rings installed. I also replaced the factory pressure plate with a gorgeous billet RDLC Crazy pressure plate. [image: clutchAssembly02.jpg] It's said to have better oil flow and looks to have a fair amount machined out of it, but I was surprised to see it's slightly heavier than the factory setup. [image: clutchAssembly03.jpg] This milestone marks the completion of the bottom end There's just the matter of the water pump to install, I was really hoping to get a Chariot Performance uprated one, but they're no longer manufacturing them. And then there is a company that makes a stunning carbon fibre generator cover/chain guard. I did have my eye on a Chariot Performance one, but again they seem to no longer be making them sadly. The cylinders are booked in with Mick Abbey for some mild porting work, then the heads need to be sent off for machining. But once that's done it will mark the engine work completed for this project and I will turn my attention to the frame. The frame has now been moved into the garage and I'm just trying to figure out how/where the steering damper should be fitted!

I do need to get back out on this bike! The front brake disc failed (annoyingly as this wasn't cheap) and the battery died over winter, even though it was on trickle charge, again very annoying. I did manage to get some nice bits for this bike, but I've only manage to get around to fitting one of the parts as the bike is in a storage unit and I don't have all the tools there to do all the bits. Firstly I have this beautiful VHM gold skull cap. [image: vhmSkullCap.jpg] I look forward to getting this fitted. I also have a pair of these beautiful carbon infills for the side panels (if I can remember where I've put them). I will fit these when I do the skull cap as it requires taking the fairings off. This week a special parcel arrived from Italy, which was a beautiful carbon fibre rear seat infill to replace the FRP one I had there originally. [image: carbonRearSeat01.jpg] It almost looks plastic dipped in that photo, but I can assure you it's the real deal. [image: carbonRearSeat02.jpg] Very happy with the fit and finish (although the seat wasn't placed down properly in this photo, hence the gap). [image: carbonRearSeat03.jpg] Just buzzing to get out back on it now that summer is here! [image: carbonRearSeat04.jpg]

Due to Imgur being blocked in the UK, I've had to rehost these images. Trust me, I love my RS, but the DT is just a solid whip. I now have an RS powered trail bike. Never ridden it, despite having it 4 years.

Aww, that sounds sick. I live near the Forest of Dean which I imagine would be endless fun of cycling round there. But I've never been as I don't have anyway to transport push bikes over to there (40 ish mile). That does sound like hard work though, just keeping the bikes riding nicely

Hey, can someone tell me which springs fit in the wr 200 fork? I ride this bike with Supermoto rims. So im looking for stiffer springs.. Greetings from Germany

what are the four restrictions?

You might have to earth out a wire on the CDI unit on your bike. There are some weird restrictions I don’t know about. Like my TZR had a black/green stripe wire earthed out on it…

@pedrobatista10 I'm sorry to hear that. BMW550d sounds nice though. At least you're still alive and breathing and it is good to hear from you. Maybe one day you can get an adapted shifter two stroke kart and enjoy that

@voiska [image: alt text] You can embed the picture into the post. [image: alt text] [image: alt text] Looks like you've got a project on your hands!

@rraleks Who says it’s running lean? Overheating is caused by different things, lean is one possibility only. Check your radiator coolant level please mate... No way the crank has a 5.5mm longer throw! It’d of locked solid against the head... Please check your radiator coolant level!... I ran my bike well lean for 1000’s of miles without damaging the piston. It was only when my head gasket blew and emptied my radiator that it ran it hot enough to eat the piston, in the same way as yours...

@declan worth a try With the ybr sprocket hopefully works for you buddy

@spookdog yes metal type it seems fine with the rubber gasket but if I can't sort the squishing issue then I'll just go back to paper gaskets

Agreed! Shame because we are all desperate for bits now

@donaldmendez Thanks, it didn't take anyway near as long as I thought to get it up and running. I've just been doing some final touches. I'm going to ride this one on nice days Here's how she stands now.
