@Glynn123 was looking at other options like ktm duke wheels but got these for £100 plus I like the look of them. Was thinking of fitting the front with a 110 wide tyre and the rear with 140 but I'll see how it goes.

    It's been a while, again
But my DT is finally out of hibernation properly and I've done some little bits, passed her MOT the other week with a couple advisories, but nothing major at all.
Over the winter I've been fitting and experimenting with a new Polini PWK 32mm carburetor, after lots and lots of tuning and jetting I've finally got her right, not perfect, but right for now!
The carburetor made a nice difference I found, revs up clean and seems to have more torque throughout the revs than standard, fit original intake system nice too.
I bought a cheap blowtorch, butane and some heat proof lacquer to blue the welds on my romeu exhaust and clean up some of the rough spots from the grit and grime of the UKs winter roads.
It took a long long time and nearly killed me with the fumes but it's looking good now! And I'm starting to be happy with the build, still after some decals for the bike but struggling to find someone who can do designs how I'd like, but I'll keep the search up.
I also just got an absolute bargain of a DTR engine, I think it's a 2003 but it is completely unsplit, none of the bolts had been touched (until I got to it 🙄) and it came with a fresh original carb and servo. Took the cylinder off to free the rings, piston and bore look brilliant but rings are slightly out of spec at 19 thou so ordered an original set and Athena gaskets to bring it up to spec. This engine will be dropped in my bike over the next couple months, just got to steal the unrestricted head from my current engine and it should be good to drop in once built.
Got a 200 mile memorial run in a week and a half so trying to get some miles on the bike and iron out all carb issues etc, I'll keep updated on how it all goes.
Here's a pic of the toys currently

@Nottsbiker i have just checked out on the acerbis site and seems like the only yamaha tank with a real improvement from mine is a 25 liters for wrf 250/450: http://www.acerbis.it/motorsport/en/product/plastics/fuel-tanks/oversized-fuel-tanks-/yamaha/0008595#a_page
but looking on the net i thing the rubber attachment is different (there is only one longitudinally to the bike instead of two perpendicularly), but i'm not really sure. for the moment i'm waiting for an answer of particular photos of the tank from the ad's owner of the tenere.

hi guys, i'm from italy, sorry for my bad english. i also have a 125 dt re 2006. i think something similar happened to me about 2 months ago, it was sounding and running like as the "magic wire" wasn't connected, i tried to disconnect and reconnect it but nothing changed. in the following weeks i canged the piston rings and now is as fast as before! i didn't changed also the piston because it was in really good conditions. i hope to help

@Calum yeah I know, but 8 is what he said! Come on Calum there is no advantage here, suspension is worse, chassis has way more flex, way down on power and well perhaps I can claim a weight advantage but I would happily swap! Pro Tapers - Whatever is fitted to a 2018 Husky FE 350, they were the standard bars from that bike and I swapped them onto the DT as they were laying around in the garage as spares.

Yes i'll be up for sale after christmas. Time for another KTM - probably an EXC 250 (two stroke).
I've had my fun, and already have another KTM at home, and every time I ride it (my ktm) I see less and less point having this bike, has been a fun project though.

Ouch! Thought running rich would just cause excessive fouling?

@glynn123 Nah mate fair enough. It took me 18 months to get my DT rolling and consequently never used it. So sounds like a great plan.

This is really vague and I don't want my members wasting time answering vague questions.

We are willing to help but please post in the correct section with more specific questions.

If you are that stuck, then I suggest you speak to your local mechanic.

As said if you have a specific question, then by all means open a thread in the relevant section.
