Hi all I'm Paul new to here. Recently have a 1988 roundie and sadly the cdi is faulty and the wiring to it is poor so I have purchased another cdi and re-bulleted the connectors. I have a green/blue wire from the cdi left over? The bike starts immediately but the revs are really high very like the common schoolboy error of putting the slide in the wrong way. It currently has a flatslide fitted but I'm destined to put a roundie on to get back to original spec. Anyone help?

My bike was stolen in 2010 and they smashed my headlight, the only one I could find at the time at one of the lugs snapped off. I had a different bike stolen around the same time period and wasn’t so fortunate with them burning it 2 doors down in a wheel barrow - I can only assume the chain & locks were giving them trouble. I purchased the unit from the first link as it’s stock and doesn’t look in too bad shape - I’ll hopefully be able to do some sort of refurb with the damaged unit I have right now and keep it as a spare now knowing their scarcity. I finally received the engine today! Started test-fitting it in a spare DTR frame, and there is a issue with the starter 'features' hitting the frame under the flywheel. I also started replacing the stator, as I'm going to run it with Zeel, so needs a charging coil as mentioned before. This will take some time, plan is to measure up the engine completely and get it into EngMod2T simulation software first. So, I need to lift the top end, and probably I will do some cleaning of the ports and modify the head, as they seem to be very low compression from factory. I will need to sim the engine to get an idea of what way to go with the exhaust, modify an Athena exhaust, modify a gasgas 250 exhaust I have, or something else.. That way I can enter the exhaust dimensions and simulate them before cutting and welding etc.
