@HOTSHOT-III Hopefully the issue gets resolved as I don't want to lose the data they're hosting. The important stuff I ought to host here to guarantee it isn't lost.

Hi all I'm Paul new to here. Recently have a 1988 roundie and sadly the cdi is faulty and the wiring to it is poor so I have purchased another cdi and re-bulleted the connectors. I have a green/blue wire from the cdi left over? The bike starts immediately but the revs are really high very like the common schoolboy error of putting the slide in the wrong way. It currently has a flatslide fitted but I'm destined to put a roundie on to get back to original spec. Anyone help?

@Calum said: These were almost a nightmare to source 16 years ago, I can't imagine trying to source one now. My bike was stolen in 2010 and they smashed my headlight, the only one I could find at the time at one of the lugs snapped off. Looks like there is one for sale on eBay: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/117220896053?_skw=DT125re+headlight&itmmeta=01KTM8B5217RAZTYS7W99928FR&hash=item1b4ae8ed35:g:y7gAAeSwpAdqHbG7&itmprp=enc%3AAQALAAAA0GfYFPkwiKCW4ZNSs2u11xBZmLIU--K9J71U9lN1jJvKGElmcMKBjUzhn5JV3gvFr%2BI2mNwns0SlbUycS%2Bw9y3Qsk%2FC9Cp56dPrHcSEz%2FAr0Zq5el9BEEdpE--23lnRC8fU0%2Fsn13ryM871mf1jmM1dUjkmiSvaLNgJjb67pd3KfdVjuND8nPx720y4ajz9BPqgS8GUW%2FCNLpWF1MTDMkYcIXC7cHLcpOan7woIP1A2k2vjESEOPdlk4W2oy4yUcxyO%2BXWy347GqH%2BHrWnu%2F2Og%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR5bRrIjVZw Looks like there are some copies on eBay as well: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/188014865985?_skw=DT125re+headlight&itmmeta=01KTM8B521KCQCFP6HVFB9B97Z&hash=item2bc68f2e41:g:v4oAAeSwOt5pf0Q6&itmprp=enc%3AAQALAAAA8GfYFPkwiKCW4ZNSs2u11xBGAd3jIpQ1I%2FPeoct0WRAbZx%2BSpsbDaUmQIjZgqRPgUJo7nG5bGWKGBRZtJJ4k6kWqRTJdLi2QjCbWA%2FBE6jgcnSjbxqmpxc5alD7AkePHPryhwNx3wJMQx9Nn2c%2FJBb%2FaX0A7Z%2BlEzJ6pVoqrlh3sZUh2UZ%2BqkVZwe2vBfwA2F39HuV9O1D2z%2FSIMHbNWWFAOiiE%2BG%2F8xlRqkrAHFOwt3oKAIwYBpeHVG82hZBHdODyJwGkKG5Ef9gkphJk0fgSnlvoW%2FpV6wkCrHIDEqggbFJ3LfV5W5qwYpTWvJNjb1RA%3D%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR5bRrIjVZw Thanks for helping and sorry to hear about the theft/ damage. I had a different bike stolen around the same time period and wasn’t so fortunate with them burning it 2 doors down in a wheel barrow - I can only assume the chain & locks were giving them trouble. I purchased the unit from the first link as it’s stock and doesn’t look in too bad shape - I’ll hopefully be able to do some sort of refurb with the damaged unit I have right now and keep it as a spare now knowing their scarcity. Thank again! - one step closer to getting her back on the road.

@Hybrid_Theory01 Is it a genuine Nissin BRAKE FLUID level window you're looking at purchasing? If not I wouldn't bother because I'm not sure a generic oil level window off eBay etc. would be safe to use for any length of time in this application. DOT brake fluid is a solvent, not an oil and due to this it can seep through certain types of plastic and rubber at a molecular level. Looking at your photo, this looks to be a completely blank master cylinder housing, i.e supplied without any of the parts these usually include. So you'll also have to accurately drill and tap the M6 and M3 holes for the handlebar clamp and reservoir cap (never easy with basic hand tools). You might also need to do this for the M10 banjo bolt fitting and it's absolutely crucial for this to be done perfectly to ensure safe operation of the brake. Plus the fact, on the DTR master cylinder there is also a very neat plastic baffle in the bottom of the reservoir which traps dirt before it can reach the piston and seal. It looks like this is missing as well. Your best bet is to buy a good used DTR master cylinder from a breaker and rebuild it with a genuine Yamaha master cylinder repair kit (not cheap but worth every penny). Have a full tin of brake cleaner handy to blast the whole thing immaculately clean inside and out, including the aforementioned plastic baffle (Holts 600ml is best as the spray nozzle accepts the same size straw as GT85 etc. for hard-to-reach places), thoroughly scrub the underside of the reservoir cap with one of those miniature wire brushes to ensure it vents properly, and buy a new rubber membrane that fits under the cap whilst you're ordering the repair kit (the idea here is the vent holes in the cap allow the membrane to change shape and occupy more space inside the reservoir as the pads wear and the fluid level reduces). It's also worth having a really good circlip plier set to remove the old piston and fit the new one, and your blank one can help you here; you only get one chance to fit those piston assemblies so get the old one out and use that and your blank to have a few practice runs before tackling the new one. Drop the entire new piston/seal assembly into some new brake fluid and dribble more fluid down the piston bore in the master cylinder before you start, and just clean off the excess once you're 100% happy the piston is fitted correctly and working. Also find a local fastener supplier that sells new M3 CSK screws for the reservoir cap and use plenty of copper grease when installing these as they're prone to seizing which makes them almost impossible to remove. No-one ever takes good care of master cylinders but doing this in conjunction with a full caliper rebuild and decent replacement hoses can give you better-than-new brake action and total peace of mind.

I'd would just listen to hotshot-iii - https://dt125r.co.uk/topic/3551/do-pipercross-air-filters-really-flow-better-at-all I haven't ran an airbox on my DTR for 10+ years and I just used the stock filter the time I had it. So I don't have any opinion on it.
