Thanks mate but does that go for my oil as well? Wasn’t sure if it has to be a certain type.. 500ml seemed to much but I take it that’s the right amount, And are those instructions correct for a super moto?

The shorter the dog bones the taller the bike. The longer the dog bones the shorter it'll be. My DTR has 10mm shorter. But I am quite tall so it fits me perfectly. I can't sell these unfortunately, but they really are easy to fabricate. But there are plenty on eBay https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Yamaha-DT125-Dog-Bones/313058777915?hash=item48e3c1db3b:g:dHUAAOSwfZpenLJm https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1991-YAMAHA-DT125R-DT-125-R-DOGBONES-SHOCK-LINKAGE/133187016828?hash=item1f0290987c:g:qOkAAOSwOTldkQR0

As mentioned they are a sealed unit I've gone down the YSS route for my TDR125 (same as DT125R) and it cost me approx £200 all in. Seems good quality and is adjustable too.

Rounded off the second one got the bugger out in record time though, same way. I bet they’ve been in there since 88...

@jonne123 my current 2000 dtr/ blue has red rear shock spring but my old 88 dtr black/red had a pink spring. Don't know if it's a colour code that actually means anything.

@dtStevie98 See these threads bud, they will give you some ideas. If you can get hold of the full Aprilia MX 125 front end it will save you a lot of hassle, if not any other bike like a KTM/Yammy/Honda etc can be made to fit; https://dt125r.co.uk/topic/1020/dtdr-build And @Calum did a through guide on bearing cups here; https://dt125r.co.uk/topic/17/usd-conversion-bearing-cup-method

@Glynn123 said in WR 426f Forks on a DT: Hi, I've just grabbed myself a real cheap set of WR 426f forks and front brake setup, still need to get triple clamps for it but looking to attempt to get it working on my DT. My DT currently has a wr200 front alloy wheel and I have an oversize disc which im 99% sure is the same size as the WR 426 front brake takes. My main problem, I have tackled many problems on bikes and could do anything engine related on the DT, but ive never tackled a fork swap, so im a little stumped on what im going to have to do. I have an old lathe and many other manufacturing tools, so I can make spacers etc if necessary. Anyone ever attempted this swap? if so help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers! Glynn How did you get on with this? as i have just purchased some WR 426 F forks for mine

A little bit off topic...but yes/no. It may do, but what you'll really notice is the spread of power across the rev range.

Worth it if that shock is rebuildable otherwise get a YSS one new as it's now so old it's probably worn out by now

    486ml + or - 2.5ml so just under 1/2 a litre of oil.
